"If you are a foodie, and anywhere near Bar Harbor, don't go... run to Project Social. On holiday for 4 days and here eat twice. Dinner was exceptional. Recommend the ducks Tacos and beef spears, although everything on the menu is wonderful. As far as Brunch is concerned, it was a very hard choice, so we all shared courts. The hash with smoked brisket, oyster rockefeller and pain perdu bread pudding French toast were amazing. Ask Chef Brian Weber. He and the kitchen staff are a talented crew, but Brian is a fantastic host with quick joke. Drinks were also excellent."

"Arrived on a Saturday evening around 6:30 and were seated immediately. The place is huge with a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. I had the lobster Mac n cheese $35 , husband had fish and chips with some clam chowder soup. Kid had a burger. The fish and chips were great! Huge, fresh piece of fish lightly battered and yummy fries. The burger was good but for $14 I?d expect it to come with more than potato chips. The lobster Mac was good, however the market price did seem a little steep considering the lobster in the dish. You do lose a lot of the lobster flavor in this dish so if you don?t want that, get something else. They have a huge beer selection most, if not all were Maine beers. However for $10 I would have expected my beer to be in a glass. The server was friendly however he was very inattentive. We waited quite a while to get our check. The food however came out super quick! Definitely a place to go, however we will be trying others during our time here!"

"This is the wealthy New England lobster pound. Tons of lobster buoys decorate the walls and there are lobster images everywhere in the square. It is located directly on the Wharf with tables inside, outside on the water and below a ramp on a float dock. You can see the lobsters living in their ponds, and the pots are right on the promenade for you to see them cook. We had an excellent service. We ordered the pound of Cajun Peeling your own shrimps. My grandson had the 1/4 pound lobster he loved to open and eat. I had the fried scallop plate, the scallops were perfected, sweet and delicate. My wife had a sling sandwich that she really enjoyed. We recommend it very much!"

"the search for restaurants that are open can challenge during the next season we were so glad that we found this gem. the place is sweet. the food was so good. our wonderful server, newton, was incredible! we have the French toast (very fluffy and tasty), maine blueberry pfannkuchen, eier benedict and yogurt with homemade granola. everything was 5 stars and cheap. free parking on the street, at least in the april when we visit. we loved all the auto-decoration. the only disappointment of my sohne was not to see any real cats, but this is probably a good thing with eating. hay"

"This was such a great place that we decided to eat here twice during our stay in Bar Harbor. The first day of vacation and the last day of vacation! The twin lobster dinner was excellent- fresh and well prepared! Steak was great and the lobster bisque was delicious! Also the homemade Blueberry cake is quite the treat!! The view is beautiful and the service was always great! Love this place and we would highly recommend! Definitely will come back again!"

"We loved it here! As tourists, we seek out interesting and well rated food joints, and Mainley Meat didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful, friendly server. Food came out very quickly and was delicious. Would like to have tried the dessert, but we were far too full. Plenty of parking, but come early...it gets packed. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"Came here and got the Clam Chowder, Hummer Roll and Blueberry Cake Lunch for $35. Clam Chowder was delicious. Many shells and creamy, but not too heavy. Lobster roll was okay. Blueberry cake was good. We also have the lobster pot. It had at least 6 lobster claws in it. But the one-pot itself was too oily for our taste, so it probably wouldn't get back. Overall, the service was friendly and efficient. Pricing was market price, so I guess fair. Would come back to try their other sandwiches as they look pretty good."

"It was a busy Monday after lunch but our server, Kim, was just awesome! We were impressed with her service despite the busy afternoon. The food did take a while but it was understandable. The lobster roll was very generous from someone coming from the midwest. The short rib was phenomenal, very flavorful but the portion was smaller than anticipated. Our favorite part was the dessert. We definitely had to ask Kim since there were too many choices, she told us to try her personal fave Berry trifle and the popular open faced ice cream. She did not disappoint, they were all so good, especially the trifle, a must try for everyone!"

"This place is the only restaurant in the park. I would strongly recommend going to Downeast Deli in Bar Harbor picking up sandwiches (they take approximately 30 seconds) and skipping this restaurant. The wait, even with a reservation is ridiculous. The service is mediocre. The worst part they have this dumb Tea Time Menu in the middle of the day (I just tried to find the hours online and had extreme difficulty). Multiple tables around us were very upset they had to order off this limited menu (instead of the lunch menu). When people are hiking/exploring the park all day, meal times aren't normal. It just seems ridiculous to not offer more options. The view outside is gorgeous. The parking is awful. The prices are outrageously expensive compared to in town."

"I almost don’t want to share this place because I don’t want it to get too popular and save this secret gem to myself. The food was AMAZING. The restaurant is small and we had to wait for about 45 mins to get seated. However the food come out pretty quickly after we ordered. The portion of the food were small so you are meant to get many plates. I will have to say that it is a bit pricey but well worth it. It was the best meal we had in Bar Harbor."

"update: we ended a few days later for lunch and had much better experience. eating was very good again and we were really impressed by the quesadilla! a more detailed description on the menu it would be better suited. we have also bought it to expect it to be blaming for our picky child, then we were all too happy to eat it instead of haha. for the experience: much better. shorter line and faster service. the music was something common, the service was friendly. Outdoors are good for children. we would go back to lunch! 3 stars: 4 for eating, 1 for the experience. long line to order, in a cramped room, with loud and abrasive techno music, and no ac at a very hot day. the food was beautifully presented, but with only 1 set of utensils for 3 meals. no good time for a family with children. but pancakes were delicious!"

"great short breakfast! it is popular with both tourists and locals, we went around 7 o'clock a few days in order and the people were constantly in and out, not from a line as it moves in the regular fast! taste the name chocolatte it is so delicious! big coffee and bagel breakfast sandwiches are tasteful! a new fave for us in bar harbor!"

"On the last day of our vacation, the family ordered takeout. Attempted to get either Lobster or Crab with scallions but they were all out. Hmmmm... out of lobster in Maine? Ordered some typical Americanized Chinese food such as Sesame Shrimp, Sweet and Sour chicken, Pork, and Salt and pepper Calamari. The food wasn't great, but wasn't inedible. Would NOT recommend as a first meal while in town but as an Asian who's been eating bar fare and lobster restaurants all week and craving some rice, THIS is your last resort. Seriously, there is a HUGE opportunity for decent Asian cuisine in this town, but as you can see these owners live on the outskirts of Asian cuisine because they probably can't cut it in a metropolitan area. What I can say is that it does satisfy your Asian craving as you force it down your gullet."

"We wanted to stop and have a burger and a beer. First we chose a table on the side walk but the waiter said that the table was not for us. We had to be a four top. There was only one other two top available jammed behind the other two top.Mind you it was early and all the tables were empty except a two top. The ladies perfume sitting next to us was nauseating. So the waiter comes over and asks us for an appetizer and drink order. I said i wanted a veggie burger and a glass of wine. He proceeded to tell me No we first order appetizers and drinks My husband said all i want is a burger and a beer. He then had to reiterate that the proper order was drinks and appetizers.He was walking away with just my drink order. We got up and left. Not good customer service!! I really do not care for pushy sales."

"We stoppped in after a day of hiking at Acadia National Park. The staff was very friendly. The server was very busy, but was quick with our drinks and taking our order. The food was fabulous. Steaks were cooked as we requested. Portions were large. Beer was delicious. The desert was outstanding. Overall, great dining experience!!!"

"We were greeted by friendly staff who quickly created a seating for us on a busy holiday weekend. We had a new waiter who was incredibly kind and helpful in helping our family pick food and drink. The pork belly sliders were delicious as an appetizer. Our kids tried some of the local root beer and blueberry soda and loved it. I wish we had asked how much the lobster rolls cost as they were very pricey-but overall very tasty as well. The place is a bit noisy but fun and with good, positive-energy overall. Not all places locally were very welcoming of a party of 5 for dinner so very much appreciated this place's welcoming and delicious atmosphere."

"We were looking for a good late lunch after a day of exploration in Acadia, and we really enjoyed our time at the Side Street Cafe in Bar Harbor. We could sit outside at 3:30. Happy for us it was the beginning of the happy hour for 2 hours. We probably had the best and uniquely flavored margaritas for a reasonable price wild blueberry for me and an apple cinnamon for my husband. At $8 per Margarita, we thought that was a good happy hour deal. We shared two lobster rolls and a Haddock Reuben. Both were delicious. The café has one of the largest lobster rolls in the area, and after several over the area we thought it was fair. The Haddock Reuben was deliciously large and with a good amount of each of the toppings. And finally the homemade chips were delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and you never had to worry about waiting to ask them a question. We definitely come back!"
