"Our first impression driving up was that we were about to have a unique and memorable experience at The Tavern. The food did not disappoint and the service at our table was excellent. The only criticism I would give is when we walked in we had a few minutes to wait for our table and we felt like we were outsiders at the bar. We were going to get a drink and sit by the fire but it took awhile for the bartender to stop talking to what appeared to be regulars and wait on us. We did finally get drinks and sat down. The other thing that really struck us was how the decor seemed like an afterthought and the items looked like they were picked up at a yard sale for out dated restaurants. I pictured since it is an old rustic cabin it would be decorated with similar decor. Our table wobbled terribly and was very small and the chairs were stained and uncomfortable at the fireplace with a hodgepodge of mismatched cabinets packed in around them. We will probably return for the excellent food sometime but for the price it was not the atmosphere I would have expected."

"I would love to review the food but we have been here for an hour and haven’t gotten our food and it is in no way been acknowledged my anyone.It’s hard you don’t want to be rude but if it’s backed up or behind it would be super nice to know that with 3 kids so we can make the choice.Edit: It took an hour and 16min exactly to receive food, my food the scallops we really delicious everyone else got steak and said it was decent but overcook. I did ask the women who sat us about waiting over an hour and she said that is normal which was clear bc all the people that came before us waited as long, that seems very against industry standards and something that the restaurant shouldn’t feel ok with being there norm. The offered to comp a dessert. I never accept comps if I complain simply bc that is not my motivation but I will not be coming back"
