Kyoto Sushi Bar

Kyoto Sushi Bar

P 4 4-6, 68161 Mannheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

"It's a nice, small and very modern restaurant right in the city center. The main concept is the circle in the middle of the restaurant where fresh Sushi (on small plates) floods in front of the guests on small boats who rotate around the circle. The chefs in the middle of the circle keep preparing new small plates with various small dishes. But you can also order from the menu at any time. Of course the quality of the food (mainly fish) in a Japanese restaurant is key, and as much as I can judge: there is nothing to complain about at Kyoto Sushi. Everything looks very fresh and is prepared with attention to detail. I really like the menu, though there doesn't seem to be hot/cooked dishes. The chefs who work in the center of the restaurant's "circle" are very friendly and most of the time attentive. My only complain is about the young waitress: she forgot to bring hot towels, or a complimentary dish, we always had to ask for more drinks or to bring the menu again. Overall it felt like she didn't like to serve the guests, at least not at this evening. At our second visit (Saturday night at 8PM) the restaurant was surprisingly empty (only 6 other couples) and the restaurant's owner started to clean the whole counter and the bar stools already at 9PM. There were two other couples sitting around the bar, and we actually started to wonder whether this was a hint to leave. It's hard to enjoy your dinner in this kind of atmosphere. Overall the owner just didn't come across even remotely interested in his guests. Price: Well, Sushi is never low-budget food. We were quite hungry, started with two soups and had at least 7 or 8 small dishes, plus a bottle of water, 1 hot Sake and two Japanese beer: about 72.00 Euro. In comparison to the restaurant Tokyo Sushi (just 200 m around the corner) Kyoto Sushi is by far less hectic and noisy, which I definitely prefer in order to enjoy dinner. However, as much as I like the food, I'm not sure whether I will give Kyoto Sushi another try."

"As a professional long-term, we sometimes rely on offers or vouchers, but during yesterday's visit we already knew in advance that we did not have to deal with any great experiments, solid Greek home cooking: just... My girlfriend and I visit the restaurant city of Thessaloniki one or two times a year. The Thessaloniki is not a great Greek that can absorb it with the heavyweights e.g. Olympia in Landau or Acropolis in Worms. We know that classic Greek food is also a dessert on the house. Beforehand we chose the grilled Peperoni (5.50 , with roasted white bread. The Peperoni had a lot of grill marks and were beautifully dressed in garlic and vinegar. As an intermediate step we served the pre-filled side salad. I'm glad there's no German salad here. Crat salad, yellow salad and beans. Unfortunately, the leaves of lettuce consisted uniformly of cheap iceberg salad, yet the salad was fine. In the meantime, we'll look around at the place. Covered tables with orange tablecloths. Typical Greek sculptures, there are only the Hellas flags and a signed Piraeus Wimpel by Altmeister Rivaldo. The Yannis Platte (15,80) chose as the main course. I had the Thessaloniki plate (15,20 . A colleague chose the devil spear (12.80 extra sharp. His girlfriend preferred to order grilled turkey with Metaxasauce (11,60). All four dishes were tasty. At my and my girlfriend's plate, the pig steaks fell a bit, they were dry. The Rumpsteaks and on my plate the spear were very good. Also the Gyros. The Bernaise sauce has reminded of finished sauce, it always tastes the same, in general the meat pieces are a little too long on the grill. During the meal we were served 4 room-warm standard Ouzos. Then there was a wonderful chocolate yeast cake soaked in honey, which was very good. The restaurant has been represented in the Schlemmerblock for years, the drinks prices are cheap. Hefebier (King Ludwig 0.5 for 2.80 are suspected for Mannheim city prices record. Conclusion: We have paid with 2x slinger block per nose 12,50 (total of 50 euros, which is ok, one takes the kitchen performance, portion size and quality of food in relation."

Cafe Und Pizzeria Adria

"the adria at the old messplatz scores above all atmospheric by bringing together as a central outlet of the teasing city east of all possible provenances. that is good and important and makes a quarter worth living, and that certainly contributes to the popularity that adria enjoys under gguides. that doesn't play a role when you get pizzas into the house to work again on a move in between. then it really only comes to eat, and so a special votum was inevitable. the pizzas are not competitive cheap there (mostly around the 6 euro, some clearly below, but also that they were hardly worth it. my uniform greyish brown, taste-neutral, gummy seafood came from one of those containers that the relevant wholesale trade offers for chefs who have suspended their call on the nail. they were embedded in large amounts of a fat, cheese-like substance, cured in the run of consumption on a hard mass, similar to the kitt with which the windows were sealed to my youthful time, and which, as I found painful the next day, would concrete the digestive tract over a long distance. (it would not surprise me if the next year still petriated rest were found next year, and that was not because between production and consumption, much time would have happened - the apartment of my moving daughter was right around the corner, two minutes away. Woman and daughter (the one had something with anchovy, the other vegetarian went a little better by not having to fight with seafood or with constipation, perhaps because they had not eaten their pizza. I already (then at the second point, but they had to pull less than me. if you are, you can't put too high requirements, but you can't sink as pizza bakers."

Café Lido

"My wife and I ate something after leaving the café cult. We had already searched for alternatives at Eve. Café Lido just stabbed us. At Cafe Lido we went up the stairs, we are not respected first by a man and a younger lady. The Lord had all his hands full to do and directed a chic cheese plate (which we should not find later on the map). The lady's got something. We then pointed out that we would like to have breakfast and point to the one place that seemed free. Wait a minute. After a minute, a blond woman came, probably the boss, and asked us if we wanted to sit outside. We wanted... we sat right in Seckenheimer Straße. We were then quickly brought the menus, there are 4 different breakfasts available. Small Lido breakfast 10,90, large Lido breakfast 15,90. Alternatively, a covered bread with eggs 9,90 or the Ciabatta bread with tomatoes, also 9,90. Here too we immediately asked if at the high prices for breakfast there is at least one hot drink. No, everything goes extra, we added everything quickly in our head. Breakfast, extra eggs, extra coffee, extra O juice, extra champagne or sampus, here we come very quickly to 30-40 euros per nose. We felt kind of charred. Like a comparison, in Poco you can also enjoy wonderful breakfast. 2 rolls, agitator, cups of coffee, sausage cheese together for 1.90, or in the Adriatic with cappuccino, agitator, tomatoes and mozzarella, even baked rolls 4.90. My wife and I looked appalled again, come and go to town. There I had a large milk coffee (in Lido 4,90 extr), egg, 2 reels, salami, cheese, sausage, butter, jam for 5,10. That's good, and even there the place makes a profit. One could almost think that the Lido and the coffee cult belong to an operator, among the overprices 25 euros for a normal breakfast ...."

Da Linda Pizzeria

Da Linda Pizzeria

I1 12, 68159, Mannheim, Germany

Cafés • Pizza • Salads • Italian

"After my last update, which I made more than 3 months ago in the form of a short review, my last detailed review almost a year ago, today is a bit more detailed: The Da Linda, after the homepage, has been in family possession for 35 years, is the typical Italian around the corner. Not only theoretical, but also practical. The corner restaurant enjoys numerous regular guests to enjoy the Ristorante Da Linda. Today, however, we stayed in front of the table with the daily offer, also due to the sunny temperatures of almost 30 degrees: The restaurant with a terrace decorated in lush colours offers pizza, pasta, ice cream and Italian pastries. Quasi an Italian All for one . Mannheim had three big city gates a few hundred years ago and in I1 was one of the three largest gates, but if you look around in the small square, you can imagine that very hard. There are 4 large screens in front of the Ristorante, including numerous tables and chairs. We were looking for a nice shady table and we took place. All chairs with bistro character have comfortable armrests, they dive for a longer time of visit, which was also necessary today, nothing was before our order a large customer order (wedding ended). The card invites you to an appetizer, main dinner and dessert. In general, however, the foods or the pasta eggs look very large. The offer also includes a main dish with a small drink. Today we choose Tortellini ala Panna, I choose the day offer Medallion Caprese, with spaghetti and salad (on the map for 13.90 standing as today's day dish for record suspects 8.90. To drink I usually order the dark yeast of the bottle, the bright King Ludwig comes out of the barrel and is usually as clear as a crystal. After 5 minutes the drinks came, after a quarter of an hour the salad came. The salad was delicious, but unusual in German for an Italian restaurant in Mannheim. The dressing was very cream/saure cream, we like it already, but not with the Italian. Also the complete salad was not made. Finally, the restaurant dispenses with the cheap iceberg salad and uses fresh head salad. Then we had to wait a bit, the waiting period was shortened by King Ludwig number 2, and we had a great place to watch Mannheimer Fahren. We were only disturbed by the brass band “the 5 Lewinsky`s”, which today opened the Mannheim trade fair and moved from the Paradeplatz towards the Messplatz. There's always something going on in Mannheim. Among other things, the SWR Studio and the Tagesschau Tage reported that Mannheim was the first German city in Tel A Viv and Istanbul, which can be mixed musically. The report is here: [here link] Back to Essen, after we had created some mixes online, our food came. The Tortellini ala Panna was first served: These are made by the owner family itself and at the first bite my wife said: “These are not bags tortellini”, the sauce wonderfully creamy and simply taste to parmesan, the tortellini with beautiful fluffy dough taste, a pleasure with every bite. Excellent also my day meal: two slices of pork fillet, tender and juicy roasted, a fresh slice of tomatoes and good mozzarella. I think the meat was further refined with tomato salt to pimp the taste. Not to mention that the spaghetti perfectly al dente, beautifully lubricated, refreshing tomato sauce, the small tomato slices in the sauce raised the whole on perfectly deserved 5 stars during the meal. We did not find the small beauty mistakes in recent reviews – minor weaknesses in meat dishes. Maybe with Andi and his favorite wife? Conclusion: Huete once again convinced us the Da Linda 100%. Pasta dishes or meat dishes, the kitchen team can do something and that for a few years. If you are hungry, I recommend the record in the type of house for 2 people – but this is not on the map, which then are at least six seven different pasta versions with up to six different sauces. Top recommendation!!"
