"My brother and I were down on Sanibel for a spring holiday in March 2019. We wneed to Maila for dinner and drink our last night on the island before we return to MN. The service was excellent. The bartenders take care of us and my parents too well. A bartender gave us a record of octopus that had been ordered in error. The octopus was excellent in presentation and taste. They had a nice wine map and a wide selection of menus for apps and dinners. I had one of the specials, fresh opah with a mushroom risotto, it was the best meal of the trip by far. The chef/owner came and talked to us after the meal, he was incredibly friendly and humble. I also had an amazing carrot cake for dessert, which resembles the quality of the main course. Our waiter, Frankie, took care of us. He made sure our glasses were never dry and that we had everything we needed. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. Whether you are here for a short stint, snow bird or a full-time resident, you should surely treat yourself with a visit to Malia."
