"Never waited so long to eat something! There are not enough « cooks » there. You had to wait for the guy at one table to finish before moving on to the next. The lobster (Fuji Menu) probably came straight from fashion week because it was thin and lean... Looked more like a large shrimp. For 135. just a disgrace. In addition, nothing is seasoned but simply warmed up quickly and tossed around wildly. We left before Desert because the waiting was just too much for us... It's a real shame for the money and time."

"Gepflegtes, älteres Hotel. Wir wurden freundlich begrüsst, durften das Zimmer auch gleich beziehen, obwohl wir deutlich zu früh waren. Da die Restaurants noch immer geschlossen sind, wurde uns für das Abendessen ein Tisch in einem der Partnerhotels reserviert. Unser Doppelzimmer war stets sauber und durchaus gemütlich. Die Sauna-Area sieht recht schön aus, der Fitnessraum ist mit Basics ausgestattet. Frühstück war gut, wir wurden jedenfalls satt. War sehr schönes Weekend, wir merken uns dieses Hotel definitiv für unsere weiteren Aufenthalte in Zermatt."

"first the restaurant deserves high accents for flexibility. because of a change of our plans we have shown up a night early for our reservation, and with only our planned the restaurant is popular, so we were pleasantly surprised when they found us. a quiet table without waiting. the manager (sophie) took care of everything and ended up leading us professionally through our entire meal. for the starters we had the mixed salat (big, colorful and extremely fresh), the Wallisan wine soup (my sohn became more familiar on this trip and the walliser specialities (a delicious teller tender cheese). for the main course there was only one choice in our heads the fondue! we chose the trufflefondue and added dried meat. it was spectacular. the best fondue we ever had. my daughter always said how she could not go back to fondue that she had done with her university mates. after that we have smeared the la religieuse (the nonne) the burned part of the bottom of the fondue pot delicious. for dessert...again...fondue this time, toblerone fondue with assorted obst and rubber bears. delicious. all this was done with sophies choice (the homemade cinnamon plumb aperitif des managers, which was quite smooth, non-too strong and a beautiful end to a great night. sophie and team at saycheese! for a wonderful evening great food, great service, great fondue training. can't wait to come back!"

"Catastrophic reception, katastrophaler Empfang. During a winter walk you are not allowed to go inside to warm up and have a drink, despite an almost empty room. Kein Recht sich im Innern aufzuwärmen trotz fast leerem Saal. Very unpleasant, sehr unfreundlich, NOT RECOMMENDABLE NICHT EMPFEHLENSWERT. The welcome is not worthy of Valais. Der Empfang ist dem Wallis nicht würdig."

"The sensation: Indian cuisine in a self service restaurant a Swiss mountain hut has finally overcome its shadow and, in addition to the usual monotony, offers excellent original Indian cuisine (including vegetarian dishes)! "Das Restaurant war geschlossen, bekanntlich ist Corona. Wir hatten einen Gutschein von CHF 200.00 und bestellten uns was in das nahe gelegene Hotel. Sie hatten ja so viel zu tun, dass sie erst gar nicht Liefern wollten! Ging dann jedoch doch.Wir wählten ein Menu (Vorspeise, Suppe, Hauptgang, Dessert) was dann so ziemlich genau den Betrag ausmachte, etwas darüber sogar. Also für CHF 200.00, was da jedoch geliefert wurde ein absolutes NO GO!!! Das Essen selbst war knapp okay, aber eher schon kalt, die Suppe war lecker. Alles war lieblos abgefüllt, nicht grad viel (waren danach nicht wirklich satt) und das ganze ohne Besteck. Gut waren wir in einem sehr freundlichen Hotel. Die absolute Frechheit jedoch war das Dessert. Da lagen in der Tasche doch einfach zwei Bananen!!!! Und dies bei einem Bestellwert von über CHF 200!!!"

"Also ich erlaube mir das mal Punkt für Punkt zu bewerten Einrichtung: sehr alt mindesten 20 Jahre modern bzw gemütlich sieht anders aus Hier kam man sich zum Abendessen nur schwer wohlfühlen Aber warten wir es mal ab Bedienung: er war hier unfreundlich bzw wirkt überfordert naja warten wir das Essen ab Weißwein und Rotwein in Wassergläsern Wir bestellen das Menü ist ja von denen ausgewählt und bestimmt das was die können Gruß aus der Küche Entenleber super fett und wirklich die schlechteste die ich je gegessen habe Brot dazu hart neues Brot bestellt ebenfalls hart ! Erster Gang Lachs (aus dem Supermarkt bei mir ging noch Verpackung dran mit Meerrettich (aus der Tube 2 Leute 3 Scheiben Weißbrot mit eingepackter Butter aber war Ok für fertigfutter 2 Punkte Nächster Gang Suppe Kürbis Creme siehe Bild etwas dünn aber Ok 3 Punkte Nächster Gang: Lammrücken mit Risotto Lamm etwas durch und dadurch zu bissfest Risotto nicht selbst gemacht etwas zu pampig Rotwein Sauce hatte garantiert noch nie Rotwein gesehen ! In Summe war es nicht schlecht und besser als die ersten beiden essen 2,5 Punkte Nachspeise: Schokokuchen fertig aus der Packung ohne Worte 0 Punkte ! Nun die Rechnung siehe Bild ! Normalerweise hätte ich 2 Punkte gegeben aber bei dem Preis gehen sie besser in jedes MC Donalds oder einen Döner essen !Jeder der hier mehr als 3 Punkte gibt war in einem anderen Lokal als ich ! Fazit: Finger weg !"

"Great deserts! The chocolate Matterhorn has gluten free brownie which was delicious. Staff and owners knowledge! Great place if you are looking for a dessert. "We had a mixed experience here. Yes, we did feel sick after having the Rosti and I am surprised to read that other reviewers also had the same experience. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews beforehand or else I might have decided otherwise. Yes, the place does appear expensive when compared to the ambience and the food. Some of the staff were rigid for sure and this was a bit disturbing, however, there were others who were warm. I would suggest this as a stopover for a quick drink and nothing more. Still, the place was teeming with guests given its great location."

"We have eaten here on our previous visits to Zermatt. It doesn't change. Very friendly welcome and service from the family. Good choice of dishes especially the raclette (you would be advised to book a table for this. Tuesday and Thursday). They have some more unusual Rosti (e,g, with ham,pear and cheese)The salads are very good . This year they have a new Dole on their wine list which was really lovely. We will continue coming back !! It is a short walk up from the Gondola station or the Red ski bus stops outside."

"Wow! What a terrific dining experience. My husband and I brought my parents to Zermatt for a few days when they were visiting from the U.S. We ate at Restaurant Arvenstube one night and were so pleased by the very diverse menu (there really is something for everyone... meat lovers and vegetarians alike) and the dishes were caringly prepared with only the finest and freshest ingredients. And as the chef is Austrian, we had the wiener schnitzel and boy were we glad we did. It was delicious and was served with parmesan truffle fries on the side... wow, yum! We were also greatly impressed by the warm, wonderful and attentive service. Our hosts for the evening (Theresa and Anna) were so friendly and their hospitality was exceptional they are a real credit to the restaurant. As a famous chef once said, you visit a restaurant for the first time for the food, but you return for a second time for the service. I really think that's true and for that reason, we will definitely be going back next time we're in Zermatt and will certainly be recommending this hidden gem to our friends. Thank you for the lovely evening!"

"What a spectacular restaurant. After walking for a couple of hours (with a 7 year old! this was exactly what we needed. We received a warm welcome and incredible food. The flavour combinations, presentation and portions were perfect. It was easily the best food we had during our trip to Zermatt. Ollie is a very talented chef. The setting is beautiful with clear views of the Matterhorn. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant during a day of hiking or skiing."

"Was brought here by someone who knows Zermatt very well and was not disappointed. An excellent sports bar with plenty of T.Vs, pool table and a great variety of food and drinks. The menu is laid out well with good descriptions of all the dishes and the beers/wines. Had a few Swiss beers and some lovely wine after dinner too. The place was clean (so important), comfortable and warm, was a chilly night out! Has a nice terrace outside too but was unfortunately a miserable wet night when we were there.Had a bacon and cheese burger which was pretty divine. The homemade chips were some of the best I've had in a while. All the food is prepared fresh and i love that about a bar. Hard to find, especially in Switzerland.Being Irish living abroad and seeing sticky toffee on the menu meant I had to have it. My favourite dessert! Chef Nick puts a twist on it and makes it into a sundae. I was in dessert heaven! Made me very nostalgic for home! The food and service was second to none but meeting chef/owner Nick made my night and was the absolute pinacle of my trip to Zermatt. The man is a fine chef who knows his business well and is one of the wittiest men I've ever met! He is an entertainer and worth the visit just to get a chat with him. I will be back Nick, to eat, drink, be merry and laugh myself to tears again! Absolutely worth a stop off here when in beautiful Zermatt. Also make sure to try the homemade caramel vodka! Top notch stuff."

"Wir stiessen letztes Jahr zufällig auf dieses gemütliche familiäre Lokal, und seither kommen wir pro Urlaub mehrmals hierher. Die Küche ist sehr gut, die Karte bietet auch für mich als Vegetarierin interessante Gerichte wie Linsen mit Rösti oder Teigkrapfen mit Gemüse und Apfel. Auch der Fleischesser war sehr zufrieden. "The main course T-bone Steak was hard, underboiled and underseasoned. The salad bar was quite average and unsuitable for price fix five course Christmas dinner. When we arrived, we first sat in a service area next to the salad bar and the dessert station. Ours was the only table in this section. The host seemed annoyed that we would ask to be moved, but he has reluctantly committed our request. The starter (sardines, meat and cheese) was good, but big enough to be a meal in itself. Our waiter has forgotten to bring appetizer plates so that we ate this first course with our bread plates. The second course, the cauliflower soup with chestnuts, was the best dish of meal. The desserts were also good, but that and the soup were not enough to save the experience. The staff seemed harassed and overwhelmed during the meal. I wouldn't come back here."
