"This is the first time visiting Ancora Italian Kitchen after several memorable visits to Vivo. Save for the introduction of pizza a welcome introduction the menu appears to have changed little since the Vivo days. We ordered four appetizers and the fried calamari was the best of the bunch and quite tasty well fried and very flavorful. The meatballs were dense and a bit dry, the arancini lacked flavor and the grilled ricotta seemed to be extremely overcooked (and also dry as a result). We ordered three pizzas and they were okay but not great. The ambience is good they eventually turned the lighting down casting a nice glow throughout the room. It would be great to turn the lights down right...

Our meal was delicious! The portion sizes were very adequate! Our only complaint, if at all, was there was no bread served with our delicious Caesar salad. I would highly recommend the Pomegranate spritzer.

Had delicious veggie pizza and poached pear salad here, both were 10/10! My partner got the gnocci and it was not our favorite. Great atmosphere, super cozy and friendly and we were seated immediately at the bar (would recommend a reservation for dinner). Would go back! Vegetarian options: Plenty of options

Fiancé and I were in town for the night and our friends recommended we check out Ancora. We loved it. Oysters to start were excellent, fiancé had gluten free pasta bolognese which can be hit or miss at most places but was perfect here, and I went with the the pizza funghi and had to hold myself back from finishing it. Service was solid and we loved the design of the restaurant. You get a lot for what you pay and were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived. Would definitely come back.
