Servers not familar with menu items. Soda gun needs cleaning (moldy taste on seltzer). This is not the pre fire Setauket Mario 's we knew and loved. Music was so depressing cut after cut of 70s drab hits weird. Bar and seats were empty on a holiday Friday at 830? That might tell you all you need to know. Please train staff. Greeters and wait staff are all very friendly and helpful. The bar and kitchen needs a little help. We received summer sangrias that were nothing more than watered down fruit punch and the chicken Marsala was made with what looked and tasted like canned beef gravy. "I was looking forward to trying Mirabelle again after a bad experience we had when they were at their old location years ago. I had friends from out of town in and we were looking for an historical venue to go along with a local revolutionary war event in Setauket and The Three Village Inn fit the bill. Unfortunately, I was unimpressed overall with our experience. The waiter was terrific, no problem there. We asked for the Tavern portion of the restaurant, hoping for that old Colonial Tavern feel, which it partially delivered. It was mostly modern, not a bad thing, but not completely what we had in mind. We had some tasty appetizers. A Charcuterie Board that was good and a Butter Board that was also tasty. The crusty bread they served with it was delicious. We also had the raw oysters; small but good. Had we stopped there for drinks and apps, it might have been a good meal, but we all continued on with our entrees and that where things turned out to be disappointing. Part of the problem is the regular menu is not very interesting and for some reason they had no “Farm to Table” specials on this particular Saturday night. I had the Milanese style Pork Chop with a salad topping, that was tasteless. My wife and one of our friends had the signature Duck. For a French Restaurant we were expecting something delicious. Again, it lacked any kind of flavor other than the chutney that was served with it. It had no sauce, Au Jus, or crispy skin. All in call not, worth ordering again. My friends had the chicken which looked a little better, but no one was raving about it. I don’t know what the rest of the limited menu is like, but nothing else sounded really good. I have heard that the Tavern Burger is good, but for the price, I can get a good burger anywhere. Suffice it to say, this experience is not going to make us run back there any time soon."

"The restaurant has stunning decor and offers delicious food! The portion sizes are generous, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed both the Mediterranean (Saganaki Special) and Italian (Chicken Sorrentino) dishes, and they were both outstanding!"

"The food here is amazing. I actually didn’t get the pasta when I went so I can’t say it’s the best pasta on Long Island. I had the lobster pizza and it was absolutely amazing. They also bring out a huge loaf of garlic bread right out of the oven it’s so fluffy and moist and delicious! Some of the best bread I’ve ever had. All their ingredients are quality and everything tastes really fresh. The place is a bit small and the first time I went it was a Saturday and they kinda rudely said you had to have a reservation on Saturdays but the food by far makes up for it."

"We attended during restaurant week 11/10). The hostess was very kind and got us seated promptly. Jason was our server and he was very pleasant and accommodating. The food was amazing, as well as the cocktails. We had such a good time that we spent almost 3 hours there. Looking forward to going back again"

"I have noticed an increasing number of 1-star reviews, and after reading them, I understand why. Many customers have complained about the rude staff at this restaurant. My fiancée and I moved to New York a few years ago and have always enjoyed having breakfast at Bagel Express occasionally. The owner is very nice. However, when my fiancée went to pick up two dozen bagels for our Thanksgiving gathering, she encountered a negative experience. Despite arriving early to ensure there were enough bagels, the guy behind the counter gave her a nasty look and made a sarcastic comment to another customer about "out of towners." Although my fiancée handled the situation politely, it was still hurtful. As a result, we will no longer be recommending Bagel Express."
