"Played there since about 1953. and right up to last summer. All those with, in the 53's with anyone who could put up with my game. I suppose I was a moving hazard. My fondest memories were playing with the Middletown guys. Just a few name of men who are now playing in the in the perfect Hereafter. God bless all of them. They were my heros. Not a phony in the bunch. This golf course was like a fantacy meeting place. My father, John Sr., Ray Moody Jr., Norman Elliott, Paul Montmarquet, Vernon Williams and Alyn Johnson,(They came from SRJC and got me started). Coach Genesy, and other I can't recall and apologies to you guys. Alum Johnson and I would play all day, never counting holes, until I tired him out so I could win a few holes. And I will assure you will have a wonderful day playing here.. It will be a place to go with a greeting from nearly everyone you meet. After not playing for 20 years I have started to play again. People told me it is like riding a bicycle. BS!!!! The first time I played with a very nice young lady. On the second hole, a modest par 3, I took out my trusty 5 wood, lined it up very caefully, took a mighty swing, whirled around twice and fell flat on my butt. Just remember, group so tight your knuckles are white, close your eyes and swing. If both feet aren't off the ground you are not doing it right. John Irwin"
