"we were so on tonight and the restaurant, just to enjoy everything. our waitress was at the beginning good, knowledgeable and timely. To achieve the problem, they have different employees supply the meal times and allegedly the main waiter staff checked back when the meal times are delivered. one of our meals was not what was ordered, and even though we told the waiting staff several times, he left the wrong eating at our table. we waited too long until someone gets the meal until the waitress starts to look at the table while he told my man that he begins to eat his meal. we finally stopped a waiting staff that didn't even wait for our table. he immediately took the meal and we waited again. while my man desperately tried to eat slowly. what caused the friction between us because I thought we were eating together. Finally, our waitress returned, told us that the meals were delivered to the wrong table, although a meal was right. explain that the other meal was prepared, but it will take a little time. you have to ask who has eaten? When the meal(s) were delivered, they brought my men also second meal plate. if we ask ourselves if we want to take it. unfortunately we went to the theater and couldn't eat with us. then the manager was involved and apologised, the waitress apologised and I ate very quickly not really enjoy my meal or this experience. they finished my meal they would have done anyway. will we go back? will we recommend? to both, but not immediately."

"I have a gluten allergy, and this is really the happiest thing I've ever eaten before my allergy develops. This restaurant is so authentic and almost everything on the menu can be made gluten-free. Michelle (our server) took care of us from the very beginning. They make gluten-free pasta in the house. My pasta was the most delicious meal I've had for years. This is an absolute must for everyone with a gluten allergy. I'll come back as soon as possible."

"The food was very good. Unfortunately, the cold design from the front door made the entire culinary experience cool. We asked the hostess to move our table away from the door, but it didn't help much. The illuminated fireplace, while it was visually appealing, was not a heat. Server was timely and helpful."

"Don't sleep on Novita! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, especially the crispy artichokes and the chickenmeese salad! The drinks were on the spot and the music was fun with a good energy! They lifted the volume in the middle of our meal, which makes it harder to talk, but we were there on a Friday night!"

"We had a reservation for a group of 10 during fall fest. Reasonably- they had a modified menu offered. The price points on everything is out of control, the spaghetti tasted like a school lunch, the Mac and cheese was extremely salty both uneaten. The $11 stuffed banana pepper was ONE pepper in a pool of spaghetti sauce. The waiter was good when he was around however clearly over sat because he didn’t even have time to check on the table and we spent hundreds of dollars on inedible food. Our reservation was not even sat all at one table- when we had made it weeks in advanced. You’d think at an average price point of $25-40 an entree we wouldn’t be sitting at a foldable table, in separate groups, with inedible food. I wouldn’t recommend anything."

"Workshop at Alacena Bistro and Market is a continental fine dining experience within an upscale Marina Market. My wife and I went for my birthday and had Chef Rafael Alamo’s seven (7) course tasting menu: he offers the choice of three (3), five (5) and 7 courses. The dinner included an amuse bouche of Iberico and Manchego Fritters followed by Yellowtail Yuzu Citrus Sashimi; Compressed Watermelon and Fruit Salad with His interpretation of Green Goddess Dressing; Vegan Roasted Tomato Soup with a Spinach and House-made Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli; House-made Pumpkin Gnocchi with Grilled Lobster bites in a lobster/seafood sauce, topped with shaved Bottarga; Mahi Mahi with thin sliced Potato, Grilled Petite Bok Choy and Green Onion; Grilled Filet of Tenderloin and Miataki Mushroom served atop au jus and a purée of a unique Puerto Rican Celery Root they called Apio; dessert was a Carmel Bread Pudding made with caramelized Ron del Barrilito Puerto Rican Rum. Each course was presented by Chef Rafael with a description of the ingredients and a personal story of his inspiration for the dish. The staff includes a creative mixologist behind the bar and a General Manager who is an experienced sommelier. For groups of six they offer wine pairings with the meal. In addition to being a fabulous tasting dinner the Chef’s Table tasting menu is a very unique experience."

"Service was really just ok. took an hour to get seated (should have made reservations before hand… someone seated another couple at our table by accident so we had to wait longer to get seated. food was great and definitely made up for the wait! great wine, steak was cooked perfectly and was insanely tender, and they brought out a beautiful slice of cake for my moms birthday with a cool candle that SHOT flames into the air. would definitely come back for the food alone!!! thanks!"

"First off.. my wife and I moved to hammonton from o.c. this place was one of the first places we chose to eat. I gotta say everytime we ordered my wife gets what she wants but my food for some reason is always messed up. It's like covid has really messed up people's heads in the restaurant business. They have entirely too many people making food and standing around not to mention the girls who take the orders on their phones constantly while waiting to pick up food. I order a Buffalo chicken cheesesteak wrap and get a sub with no cheese, withered lettuce on it, and barely any buffalo sauce. I order same everytime but I get a wrap with again...withered lettuce which I never heard of any Italian restaurant or restaurant in general putting cold lettuce with hot chicken, no cheese and barely any buffalo sauce. My wife gets the same pizza all the time (margarita) it comes to the house cold. You guys seriously need to do better! I'll never order again.."

"Our group ordered the Halibut Cocktail, Burrata, and Truffle Fries to share, and I chose the Pork Chop as my main dish. Everything was delicious and fresh. The Pork Chop was a thick cut, and even though I don't usually eat much pork, this dish was incredibly juicy. We also shared the Apricot Crumble and a scoop of seasonal ice cream for dessert, both of which were delightful. Our waitress was attentive and courteous. Overall, this is a well-established local restaurant with several other locations in the Bay Area. I would definitely consider returning to explore more of their menu."

"they save themselves some time and money for something much better elsewhere. eating was the only reason to really give all stars. we decided to go after the parking lot on the road and regret it. we were shown the bar after telling the empty-looking restaurant and the terrace was fully dedicated for the evening. we were immediately greeted and served by rafael and he was great, but a part of the way through our meal, he disappeared and our experience went down hills from there. we asked for wein and were promptly pointed out to steve, which seemed unrequired and gave minimal description of a $30 glass cabernet bottle msrp is $45) then we had to say to the bartender again. she struggled to use a coravin and gave up and tried the bottle with the foil still on!!!! that led to pieces of cork in our pathetic excuses for a glass of wine. we have paid $30 for 3-4 ounces of medium cabernet with cork. the skallop was a well composed plate. the charred avocado lacked salt and seemed to make me little sense. the hanger steak was good, but a bit on the smaller side. the hot it was also very tasteful and interesting, but also have used a hauch of finishing salt. then we made the mistake of ordering two espresso martinis in creamy style and a classic, they were both terrible. I don't know what the specifications of the barkeeper used, but that wasn't the worst espresso martini ive had. I know that it is hard to find good help, but also basic things like not wearing them apron they eat and drink in, on the bathroom, these young don't understand. I have been in the service industry for 17 years from casual to michelin star restaurants and I hate to leave a bad review. this place could be so good and I wanted it to be. unfortunately we left unhappy, unhindered and after $300 for two guests unsatisfied and will not be back soon."

"We waited forever for our entree(45 minutes). Asked the waiter where our food was and he yelled at me and said he purposely wasn’t holding our food back. I didn’t accuse him of this but jest asked where our food was. My friend ate two bites of her food and did not want to bring it home. Overall a very disappointing dinner. Will not go back"

"We were excited to sample the Red Miami Spice Menu. Upon arrival we were told that we could only be seated in the bar section while waiting for our 3rd and final guest. We were also told we could not order any food until our guest arrived. There was no offer of bread, or perhaps the ability to order an appetizer. Therefore, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco and welcomed our guest at the same time. I ordered pork chops from the provided spice menu. Shortly thereafter our waitress returned and gave me another menu claiming the pork chops were not on it. Then she provided a slightly condescending and unacceptable explanation. My entire party had the same menus which included the pork chops. There was no need to make a menu switch after my had been placed. I would have been completely fine selecting another entree."
