"I enjoy coming to this restaurant, for their distelmasala, white rice, garlic naan, rita and samosas. their samosas are some of the best I had. Moreover, the Masala sauce is a little different from that I had elsewhere, but it is super aromatic and I love it. the owner sam had previously said that they cooked their vegetarian food separately from the meats, which soothing and a practice I appreciate."

"This restaurant offers the highest quality food you can find. The dishes are absolutely amazing with great quality and quantity. Don't miss out on trying their veggie Thalis, they are truly awesome. Everything about this place is fantastic. It is highly recommended for Indian food in all of Chicago."

"Spicy means indian spicy for Swad...which is great! Ambience is ordinary n regular but makes up with food and portion size, which are awesome. Next visit should be for lunch, cos a hearty meal such as these without an afternoon siesta to follow its not the same. Tandoori Nan was thin yet soft fish was done just right and mutton roghan josh was enjoyably spicy. Mango lassi for my teste was way too sweet.Vegetarian options: Good varietyKid-friendliness: Yes"

"Kathmandu Cuisine serves both vegan and meat options. Of course I went the plant-based route with her Aalu Sadeko potatoes) $10) and the Aalu Bodi Tama $12) that made a stuffed curry with black eyebrows, potatoes and bamboo shoots. The potatoes were hot. Loved the flavors, but didn't know how much of a kick it would have lol. Certainly, rice or bread need to cool down or ask for less spices if your tolerance is not high. My physical tama was also very tangy with a kick, and went well with my side of Roti. I noticed that all meat options first came out and it took more time for me to get my veggie options so my friends decided to wait until my came before eating. While the food was quite good, I wish that more of the vegetarian options would be vegan friendly, or that they would be able to see what items were naturally vegan. Even with their extensive vegetarian menu, I had to look for some dishes online at the end to check and see if they fit my diet. Unfortunately, their veggie momos are not vegan friendly, but their impossible meats were. I didn't want to spend the $6 on it, but that's how I had to tip tonight. The service was decent at night when we left. Although it wasn't super packed, it seemed like they were understaffed as it took us a while to get menus and then order. During the meal we were not very often checked and always needed water to help with the spice level of food. I know the staff worked very hard, but I think a bit more attention would be great."

"my waiter gave me the confidence to try several new dishes. so I tried to feed the vegetable pakora. I decided to try the mushroom bhoona and ordered my favorite saag when the escape. I love my saag level. I was in restaurants that insist that my saag contains at least one of the usual ingredients: paneer, aloo and sometimes chana, which I then painfully get out of my saag. one of my raw food cookers, originally from india, had a bio restaurant. she told me why they committed me to trembling my saag. if that happens, I'll go up and never leave the restaurant back. but in this restaurant my waiter had no problem to submit my request at the place. the vegetable pakora first arrived. I really liked it. but there were the tamarind sauce and green chili chutney that the pakora really made excellent. when my man came to a call to eat his pakora, it was cold (he hates cold food.) but my man liked this cold pakora so much, he always tried to ask me about it while he breeds them at once down he usually eats it and asks for a question. After the pakora was completed, however, he immediately announced to order the pakora again at our next visit. the mushroom bhoona and the saag came together. both my man and I were very impressed by these exotic aromes. when the rice arrived that was taken up with the bhoona, we had most bhoona and saag eaten. my man is a rice fan, so he can just sit and eat rice himself if necessary. I usually do not eat white basmati rice. wild rice, brown or black rice. but when they brought out these basmati, I had to try. it had interesting spots of seasoning in it. after a bite I sat and ate the half of the plate with the rest of my saag. I mentioned my waiter how much I liked the basmati. he explained all the preparations that go into making this special dish. it was quite impressive and he seemed very pleased to hear that I liked it so much. I hope he shared my compliment with the kitchen. I liked the way our waiter observed our food needs again and again when he came past our table. I noticed he didn't want to interrupt our dinner. but I knew if I looked at him, he would have come directly to our table if we needed something. that is the sign of a sophisticated waiter for me. a trait that I rarely see more in restaurant waitstaff. at the end of our meal our waiter offered us a free sample of the gulab jamun desserts. After he described this, I know I didn't order it alone. but we still tried. my man just yelled at me when I tasted this overly sweet dessert. he had observed my expression when I tasted him and offered me the other half of his rehearsal. it didn't come surprised when I told him that the next time we came, I'd order the gulab jamun dessert. I asked him how he knew I liked it. apparently it was the ankle in my eyes when I took my first bite that there was gone. so, now it is obvious that we already planned our return to this restaurant on our next trip to fresno. not only eating is very nice, but our waiter has made me feel that I will not forget. so it's easy to forgive the little girl that went into mine when I first sat and my man was outside on a call. they rode on an unusually large cracker that was in her hand and from a strange background she jumped in and sat on the stand for several minutes. it seemed completely unlikely for the difference between a customer and an extended family. it was so strange, it was almost cute. but that immediately tells me that this flawless crew is family owned. but what is really etched in my mind, in the last moments of this culinary experience, was the hectic attempt of the owner. our waiter was not far behind the owner who ran into our car with my mobile phone charger base. it had fallen out of my handbag in our stand. I am so grateful to this gracious owner and my waiter that he gave it back to me before we get away. I would never have been able to complete my work projects, emails and text messages without my cell charger base. the demanding waiter skills of our waiter, combined with my saag accommodation and the desperate attempt by the owner to return my cell charger base, shows me that it is not by chance that this restaurant serves such fine quality meals. this is the first time that my man and I plan our next visit in a restaurant on the APPETIZER course! So, for a high quality north indian restaurant with excellent eating and excellent service, I recommend you to make their first stop in tandoori night!"

"Food is very good, service is good as well, the ambiance is not so good. I would have expected better considering the cost of the food. It was very pricey, and everything was extra. Naan was not served with your dinner, extra. Chutneys were extra etc. I have been to many other authentic Mediterranean restaurants and paid less for much more. The website also states they have a lunch buffet and they do not."

"Let's discuss the flavor, quality, portion sizes, and outstanding service. We’ve been revisiting our favorite Indian restaurants as our 20th wedding anniversary approaches, and our dear friends will be joining us for the celebration. We all agreed that Indian food would be a fantastic choice. After some searching, we've decided that Swagath will be the place to celebrate and enjoy incredible cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. They have switched to serving water in single-use bottles, which we find a bit puzzling, but it doesn't detract from our experience. The dishes we enjoyed were lamb vindaloo and goat Chettinad—both were absolutely perfect."

"The carryout menu has a cow symbol with an X through it next to all the vegetarian menu items that can be made vegan upon request. There are several, including the roti that can also be made vegan. The server also showed me the items on the buffet that were vegan and he even made me a dish of fried cauliflower with spicy chutney from the buffet even though I ordered off the menu. We were very pleased with the service and the flavor. Convenient location easy to access."

"This place is incredible, if i could give it 5 stars i would. Authentic Indian, bursting with flavor. We loved it all, veggie pakora was incredible, as was the samosas. We ordered the aloo ghobi, Bhindi do Pyaza (best I’ve had) and vegetable and tofu jhalfrezi. I have nothing but praise, 0 complaints. My children were with me and the mold was truly mild, they loved it all. We also loved the poori and Roti, which were also great."

"We brought our couple friends with us and ordered 4 meals and paid for all meals. I let the server know that I had a group, she marked it on my phone and didn't take the $20 off the bill... I checked my bank card and the bill went through without the group. No good experience. I don't think the server was good... a creepy person."

"We got garlic naan with mint chutney, boti tikka masala (lamb), chicken tikka masala. The customer service, environment, and food d wonderful as always. I have visited this restaurant probably forty times altogether. The food is always consistent day or night. Buffet is served only parts of the days, and even that is very well maintained."

"Delicious food, impeccable service, and a back room that was perfect for a group of 22 British expats who know/miss a good curry. Our thanks to Sunny and team for a perfect night out. We appreciate that food is cooked to order and served to preference, which provided time to enjoy your lovely starters over conversation. Thank you for permitting us to linger (pre and post meal) at the bar. We'll definitely return to our neighbourhood favourite!"
