"I've been waiting for an authentic Japanese ramen experience in the NoVA area for some time, and Marumen provides it. From quality, authentic food with an occasional twist to friendly (if sometimes absent minded) service, Marumen does ramen right in the shell of an old Pizza Hut. The food itself is solid, with rich, pork based ramen stock complimenting well textured noodles. The appetizers (I have tried the chicken karaage and chicharones) are also on point and great for sharing, or even as a meal for friends who aren't ramen fans. The service is always friendly, although the servers sometimes lose track of their tables, resulting in longer than average waits. The ambiance is decent and quirky the spots of anime and a faux Asian wall of wood planks don't do a lot to dampen the noise, but give a tongue in cheek nod to the space's former identity."
