"This is a gem of a place! We went there 3 mornings in a row! Their sausage breakfast croissant is top notch. Cheese Danish is solid and their desserts are good quality. We tried what we thought was lemon meringue pie...turns out it was a passion fruit meringue. Not what we were expecting but good nonetheless. The customer service is good...right after walking in the door someone greets you and asks if they can help. Seems like a basic concept but post-covid it seems like it's not so basic with the new help or lack of help. Firehook is a must-try!"

"I've bought 3 cakes from this local bakery within 2 years and each time they get better and better! The staff are always friendly, the baked goods are always fresh with quite an assortment to choose from, and my oh my, is their strawberry crème cake delicious! It's my favorite cake ever and one I buy every time it's either my partner's birthday or mine we love it! I love going to firehook bakery and hope they thrive as a local business so I can keep buying more cakes from them!"

"It might not look very big, but when you walk towards the restrooms you'll see a lot more seating towards the back. There are also a few tables outside too. I was out being a tourist and desperately needed some coffee. This was the first location that we spotted even though we were looking for a Starbucks. It was the crowd that was drawing me into this place. I wasn't particularly a fan of the iced coffee, as it was weak. However, it did its job. I wanted a little sugar and got one of their chocolate brownies. Brownie was very good and super rich and not too sweet. Very big piece of brownie too. Like diabetes BIG.... Staff were friendly. Prices are average for coffee shops even though it's located super close to all of the political buildings."

"This is not a full-service Firehook as it is almost literally a hole in the wall of the Building Museum. There are some pre-made sandwiches and quick bites to grab and they make the usual coffee drinks but don't expect their full selection of cakes and pastries. Still for being such a small location, it is a wonderful place to get a drink and take in the lobby of the National Building Museum!"

"I wish I had more pics to share but we dove into this delivered order before I could. Every bite was simply decadent — ordered a strawberry shortcake, an eclair cream puff, a tres leches, a chantilly, a fruit tart. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the shortcake- the cake itself was firm but moist and held together perfectly so when you took a bite it was with the super fresh strawberry and smooth, thick and not overly sweet whipped cream. "The Ham and Cheese Croissant was delicious! I prefer when the guts are baked inside and this is more of a sandwich situation, with the croissant cut in half and the innards stuffed in between. That being said- this was TOTALLY worth the throw of the dice. The béchamel made it for me. If you have textural issues with food and were on the fence about there being a "sauce" like I was- fret not. It was fully present in flavor but didnt give the overall mouthfeel a wet feeling at all. Full texture disclosure: outer edge of the bottom half of the croissant was a little soggy-bottomed from all the butter- but youre also eating a cheese sandwich on a butter pastry with a butter sauce- so its a tiny bit expected that there wont be perfectly dry, flakey layers on the bottom. Sorry no photo of the star of my review- it was too good to stop eating it! lol But everything was fire. Good bakery quality here, not your flaccid blond, improperly laminated wannabe pastries you find in doughnut or bagel shops. These are the real deal. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Will order from here again. Thanks for such a positive first experience."
