"Wow, just wow. What a beautiful café and fantastic staff. My husband and I decided to go to Woodinville for Easter dinner, so we booked a week or so before. We lived in Redmond and drove at this place all the time when we went to Woodinville, but never thought to stop in him 's a shame we didn't. At first, every person employed here is a jewel! That sounds corrosive, but everyone we talked about was sincerely friendly, but also professional. There is an air of happiness over this place and it shows in the faces of the moats eating there. The name of our server escapes me, but he was fantastic. Not obtrusive, and there with a fast fill your glass and politely vice versa (although he was also funny) and leave. He recommended the Jambalaya I had. It was perfectly not excessively hot, but not mildly cooked, either just the right amount of kick. A complaint I have with Jambalaya in restaurants is that they can't get the rice here. It was so delicious. Husband had fish and chips. He enjoyed everything, especially the Koleslaw, but only wished that there were more raids and less pommes. Fish was fresh and while the bread was heavy, it became perfection beautiful, flaky, and very white, clean cod cooked. We decided to share a pretzel for a starter; I only had a few bites as I saw the other diners and the portions. The pulp was fresh from the oven and the associated mustard and spread were the perfect additions to the fresh (pretzel) bread. Our drinks were well prepared. Husband chose a beer and loved the recommendation; I opted for a sidecar that was made as it should be and again as jambalaya easy to screw, but not here. They rock the bar and the kitchen in The Commons. Finally we rarely get dessert, but decided to share home a mini-load of lemons poppy cake. It was moist and sweet. (On a side note we saw their famous cinnamon roll and, wow, you could share it with three friends). We are not brunch people, but are planning to come back specifically for this purpose as The Commons is a big weekend place (and also weekday)."

"We came here today for the first time. We waited outside near the door until they opened at 10am. At the register as I started to order, the young woman in a black shirt said: We open at 10 . I looked at her puzzled as I knew they opened at 10 and it was 10:05 when I was at the register. I said that I 'm aware they open at 10 but that we wanted to be first in because we wanted to get a table away from other people, still nervous about eating in.(we are older and my friend has COPD, so we have to be careful). She continued to say that I should not have been in front of the door and should have waited to the side so that they can open the door. I started getting befuddled as it felt she was berating me like a child I 'm 64 years old. I said that I did step aside as soon as they opened the doors. She for some reason wanted to continue educating me and said that they cannot open the doors if I 'm standing there. By now I 'm getting upset and asked if we can please drop this so that I can continue to order I asked for her name, but she declined to tell me do I asked for the manager She tried to get her word in before I did, and the manager was friendly, and said he would talk to her. Later I saw the 2 laughing and joking, but whatever. When the manager brought the food, I again told him that cashiers conduct was rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and condescending and that it left us sitting there in disbelief. He said that other people had been knocking on the door for the last half hour before opening so the cashier of was just annoyed. That had nothing to do with me, because those people were at the door before I even got there, and I never knocked since I knew they did not open till 10, so I 'm not sure why he used that excuse for her behavior. We ended up boxing up our food and left. Never again! That is not how you allow your employees to act and treat customers. It was the attitude and her refusal to drop the subject after she already berated me, is the part that got me the most. Unprofessional disrespectful and untrained staff. In all of my many years of restaurant eating, I have never seen and experienced such unbelievably poor treatment ever. I don 't like giving bad reviews, but this place deserves an honorable mention. The food we took home was good, to be fair."
