"I booked this place to celebrate a birthday dinner. Prior to coming to Cornicello this evening, I had reached out via Yelp to understand the menu and offerings. I was pleased with the responses and booked a reservation. This review is based on our food and experience. The server Allie was very kind and helpful. We started with the complimentary Focaccia bread. I 'm not sure if they were aiming to serve the bread brick cold, but normally Focaccia is served at room temperature. That was rather surprising. It was tasty, but I would expect the bread at least mildly warm. The appetizer, Autumn Caprese was light and had flavorful. The entrees were decent, but nothing unique. The ravioli tasted like frozen ravioli smothered in an oily lemon sauce. The baked penne was ok, but small and rather chewy. Pricing was on the higher side for each dish between $20 $28. I was expecting much more of an authentic taste as opposed to what we got. Lastly, I had reached out prior to coming to see if I should or could bring a dessert for my bf bday dinner. The owner told me they would serve a complimentary dessert and not to worry. I was waiting for this to happen and the server even noted it was his birthday. I 'm unsure what sort of communication they have here, but clearly there 's a lack of communication or organization. The complimentary dessert never came and we were so graciously served the check within less than an hour of dining. I wanted to try a dessert, but was waiting to see what they would be bringing him. NOTHING. We paid and went to another local restaurant for dessert since I felt horrible. They weren 't even busy so I 'm not sure why they dropped the ball. Another note this is housed inside/next door to Astor Manor, which is where they are bringing the good from. This made me ponder who is doing the authentic cooking of this place since they are walking in and out of Astor Manor 's kitchen. Wanted to really love this place, yet sadly I will not return due to my experience this evening."
