"Today was my first visit to Brar's. The front window of the restaurant proclaims in foot-high letters that they have a lunch buffet 6 days a week. You are meant to take this as an inside joke. There is no buffet. Maybe there used to be one before COVID changed the world, but there isn't a buffet now. Laugh move on. I don't claim to be any sort of expert on Indian cuisine, so I asked our waitress what she might recommend. She suggested the thali since it has a variety of items so you can sample a few things. We got the non-vegetarian choice. When it arrived, my inexperienced eye told me this wasn't very much food. I wasn't very much correct. It was plenty. My lunch partner took some of his home. I don't think I will be eating again today. We were offered a spiciness level on a scale of 1-6. I've had experiences with Chinese restaurants where I ask for spicy, no really, extra spicy, but what I get instead is bland I have to kick it up with some hot sauce after the fact. So I was hopeful that 5 would do the trick here. It did. This lit up my taste buds quite nicely. I have friends who would run screaming from this but I loved it. With the sorry state of affairs in the world as it now is, it must be a tough go to keep a restaurant operating. Over the course of our lunch, the place got maybe half full. I'm perhaps being a bit generous with that estimate. It's a shame. This place deserves to stick around for a long time. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious food. Not McCookieCutter slop. Go there. You'll be glad you did."

"What a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner we enjoyed at Rani Mahal restaurant in Mamaroneck. Quiet and peaceful were the ingredients we were looking for and we found it at Rani Mahal. A nice local restaurant with wonderful Indian selections, both non vegetarian and vegetarian. My dinner companion and I shared a Gobi Manchurian appetizer, a delicious dish of cauliflower florets in a garlic tomatoe sauce spices. My friend loved her Tandoori Chicken main course while I went all out with the Tandoori Medley. Bring your appetite for this dish with lamb, chicken and shrimp all equally good. These two dishes are cooked in clay pots allowing the tasty spices to sink in. Service was outstanding we were given a wonderful table with our Open Table reservation. Rani Mahai a winning restaurant."

"This is a diamond in the grob! On the outside it looks small and annoying, I won't lie that I had no high hopes, but immediately it changed when I went through the door! The atmosphere is amazing! The decor was phenomenal, menus were simple. I'm blown away! Time to come to the most important part! The food. Once we set ourselves, we were asked what we want to drink, I went with a sweet tea and my brother got a lemonade. They were phenomenal, I don't know how, but the tea tasted amazing, better than I do at home! I have Mango Chicken Curry and my brother got the Chicken tikka masala we also have a side of garlic naan bread. We had no problems with the food that tasted everything amazing! We have mild since we just wanted to eat something and the mild had the PERFECT amount of spices. Only enough to know that there are spices at the end. The Naan was amazing, and we got an order of it. About everything it was an amazing experience 5 stars everywhere and we will definitely come back!"

"A group of us 8 adults and 2 kids visited this restaurant after touring Boston. They have ample space in the restaurant to accommodate this large group and their own parking space at the back of the restaurant. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us make an informed decision about what to order, especially since we one person in our group was vegan. I liked how their futchka (pani puri) had a restaurant made flavor rather than a store bought flavor that usually these kinds of restaurants have. We had daal, bhunna gosht, chicken karahi, butter chicken, seekh kabab, and bihari kabab. fried chicken wings and chicken soup. The food was really good but not wow. I liked how they were more not overly spicy and wish the portions were more. The Naan was freshly made and very soft and tasty."

"Do not eat here. It's unsanitary. I've eaten at Clay Oven over a dozen times, and it used to be a semi-weekly go-to. That ended when I found a dead cockroach in my food. Please read their food health inspection history on the department of public health's website—they've had 3 violations for insects and rodents in the past year and a half, and were forced to close in June 2022 due to so many infractions. Avoid."

"I’m a foodie. This place, is by far the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in LA, and arguably in the US. Their quality is incredible and consistent. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. It is family owned and the owner is super nice and authentic. I highly recommend this place."

"the non-dairy vegetarian speciality section of the menu at the mountain gate is after waiting staff to be all vegan. I counted 12 dishes in the secrecy. veggies contain cauliflower, aubergine okra and spinat. the mixed sweet curry contained a real medley of sweet and a pleasantly spicy sauce. many of the vegan dishes had borons, lenses or exfoliations. one of my curries was quite salty tasting. each dish came in a slightly steaming manner. everyone came with basmati rice I don't eat. I ordered sponge Indian broth as my korn, tried to distract from nan that is naturally with fine white flour and armi that is deep fried. I was covered with a water bun. some of the vegan dishes I have not tried to contain shaag bhajee, alu palak, and sweet vindaloo. I tried to order a by-product, but this article was not available. each item in the vegan part of the menu, except the cheap dahl was $11.95 the dahl was $7.95 it was a comfortable, beautiful restaurant in a very warm evening. direct parking available. updated by previous review on 2021-07-17"

"When I go for Indian/Pakistani food I look for freshness, taste and cleanliness. I found Bollywood grill passes in all of the above categories. The Daal makhni was fresh tasty and topped with ginger slices. Lamb qorma was delicious with appropriate spices balance and lots of cashew slices. Both dishes included fluffy basmati rice. Naan were soft and little crunchy outside. Shri was the courteous and helpful counter person. Dietary restrictions: I am not sure if they serve halal meat!"

"The restaurant was understaffed on Christmas, with only one server and one chef working. The kitchen appeared to be dirty. The wine selection was lacking and served in a dirty glass. There was a hair found in one of the spinach entrees. It took an hour for our food to be served, and the entrees from the buffet were cold."

"I went for lunch and ordered Chicken Special #2, which came with Vindaloo Chicken Curry, Aloo Choley, naan, and a dessert. I'm not very familiar with Indian cuisine, but I found the meal to be delicious. The portion was large enough for me to take some home, although I thought $13.95 was a bit high for a lunch special. I would have preferred to have the buffet option, but unfortunately it was not available at the time."

"We had the whole restaurant to ourselves as we had a birthday lunch early on a Wednesday. The server was extremely nice and clearly invested in our dining experience. The restaurant was clean, very nicely decorated, and quite cozy (no, tat doesn't mean the tables were tightly packed). And, the food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely come here again."
