"When you split a sandwich and the other person says …”Where did this come from because it’s outrageously good?” AND now you clearly want the other half back … well that’s the start of a great review. I have driven by this place for maybe four/five years and the curiosity got to me the other night. Every other deli in the area closes early afternoon but there was Soho Kosher Deli open and it was around 7:30pm. I wanted some soup. There were three options and I wanted a chicken vegetable which was available so I didn’t even entertain the other two. They were both heavier. One was a split pea and the other more on the stew side. The soups were part of a well stocked hot bar. A lot of options there but I honed in on the cold deli counter items … a stuffed cabbage and a stuffed artichoke thing that was better than the cabbage. This is where the sandwich comes in. I was simply checking out (buying my items) and the sandwich making guy “strongly” suggested I try a sandwich. “They’re all great” he said. “Which one you want?” How could I pass that up? So I ordered the brisket on rye as it was listed on the menu board and ate it hot and fresh Thursday night. Here it is Saturday afternoon and boy do I wish I had that other 1/2 to nosh on. My wife too asked me to pick-up another one BUT I need to wait til tomorrow, Sunday! Needless to say, I will be back and I will be trying other menu items."
