"To make your visit to La Vita Bistro start out right, enter the doors closest to Main St. so you don't have to wind yourself through the entire crowded, cramped restaurant to get to the hostess stand. The hostess was exceptionally friendly, as was our waitress, Cecily. We were in a bit of a hurry, and she made sure to check back regularly, and bring our bill as soon as we were done eating. The interior of the bistro is cozy, warm, and nicely decorated, albeit crammed with too many tables and people. We started with their complimentary bread, which is delicious, following that with tomato and basil soup. Based solely on flavor, this was an excellent recommendation from our waitress. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm right when it was brought to the table, and both of us would have liked it to be hot. We weren't super hungry, so we split lasagna, made with homemade sausage, which was a little disappointing. First, from a texture perspective, slices of sausage just don't belong in lasagna. It should be taken out of the casing, and cut or crumbled before making it part of this dish. Secondly, I thought it might have been me, but my husband agreed that there was a slightly fishy taste to the lasagna. It was peculiar and unwelcome, but not so overpowering that we wanted to take time to send it back, as we were a tad rushed. I really want to give La Vita Bistro four stars, but just can't, so we'll have to come back and try something else. Thumbs up to Cecily on providing excellent service--hopefully we'll get lucky and have her as our waitress again."
