"I've been going to Seasons for many years and generally love it. Recently, the upstairs bar area has been uncomfortably warm and unpleasant. We had a starter and a drink upstairs before heading down to the main dining room for dinner. We had a Sunday evening reservation and it was not busy, yet my request for a part of the restaurant to sit in wasn't honored nor was our celebration acknowledged. I understand that the staff have a job to do, but perhaps the reservation booking system shouldn't ask for special occasions if they won't be paid attention to? Our server was great personality-wise, but service was slow. Seemed maybe there were problems in the kitchen as the lighting seemed to be mostly out. My BF enjoyed his meal, but the sauce on my steak was weird and overly sweet and the broccolini had a strange chemical taste. I NEVER leave veggies on the plate, but these were inedible. Bread was stale, cocktails in the dining room were not very good. It was just a regrettable and expensive meal, especially since I had been bragging to my boyfriend about how great Seasons is. I hope this was an isolated incident and an off night. Just wish we hadn't been there for it."
