"This is one of my favorite restaurants, where the service is consistently good."

"Great Indian Kitchen is the successor of Nirvana Indian Restaurant. They continue to make their amazingly mixed Tandoori grill that they are friendly enough to do everything in chicken for me. The aromas are deep, rich and literally a smile on my face when I think of them. The service is wonderful. Friendly, helpful and committed. I think GIK is the best Indian food I eat in the capital. And I eat here all the time. I suggest you too."

"we decided to try a new Indian restaurant for a family dinner, and friend recommended saffrin based on an experience with supplied food. the decor is simple, but that didn't disturb us. the restaurant is located in the second floor and will not be a problem for us by an external metal staircase, but those with mobility challenged would be good to call first. saffron offers new and different menu options that we enjoyed, and parts were bigger than some competitors. both eating and service at saffron were good, but some menu choices were better than others. all in all, our experience was quite sufficient."

"Had the lunch buffet on previous occasions and I wasn't too pleased with the food. Hence, I stayed away for a while. Felt like having Indian food today and decided to give this restaurant another go. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very delicious. Place was clean. Had meals from the lunch special and the servings were pretty big, enough for 2 persons. I had the cheese naan, butter chicken, fish 65, vegan soup and tandoori chicken."

"I had been to this restaurant previously many times and used to be a regular customer despite the serve being at times incredibly slow because it was close and the food was good but had only interacted with one of the owners. The other owner was so disrespectful along with the bartender. They actually cursed at us which is inexcusable. They quickly denied doing so when onlookers on Thur busy west Randolph street began to stare at them though the busy boy who was the only one polite enough to apologize and onlookers on the street along with the two of us had heard them. They tried to tell us we had to leave with no warning that we are shutting down we will give you five minutes to finish the drinks you still have. We just asked for a few minutes or a return or the drinks and of course basic kindness and politeness. Then we were told they would call the politics on us. Which they did not do because what could they call the police for everyone on the street saw that we did nothing wrong to deserve third rudeness. I am not sure if we treated so badly because we look different and dared to ask them for a few minutes or at least to not be rude after a tip that was over 20 percent for a 150 dollar meal. Our date was ruined. This is 2020 and the service industry is about politeness and service. Not to mention regular business is hard to come by in COVID times. Because it was one of the owners I am pretty sure nothing will be done but customers should know as should others owners and investors. Thank you for your time."

"Hard to find a place like this anywhere in NW Wis. Most of the time you can find simple bar food. Not so here. Casual but great food for a dining experience. White linen tablecloths and napkins. Okay wine list. Good service staff. A Che who cares what goes on the table. Justified prices. Worth seeing."

"It was surprisingly not crowded for lunch. The staff were so welcoming, and seating us right away. The lunch menu was difficult to choose from, since every item seemed to be my favorite. I was surprised at how much food came with your meal. I was expecting a smaller plate. And, the mango lassi was truly incredible! I cannot wait to go back."

"I am extremely shocked by the experience I just had at this restaurant. I don't normally write reviews, but sometimes you come across a place that is so unbelieveably terrible that you have to speak up. The biryani I ordered was not fresh and made me feel sick. When I asked for kheer, I was not informed that it was sold out. Instead, they gave me semi-frozen, rotten, and moldy gulab jamun to take home. The person who gave me the food acted as if everything was normal, which added to my disbelief. I started to question if they were trying to play a joke on me, as the situation seemed so absurd. They offered me a lassi as a replacement, but it smelled like fish, which made me even more disgusted. I cannot believe the nightmare that I just went through."
