"We were visiting San Diego from Salt Lake City, and were excited to have Kerala food from a restaurant. The food here was great. We ordered fish curry, and meen pollichadu. They tasted really good. We also took home beef ularthiyathu (spicy stir fried beef), kozhi porichathu (spiced fried chicken), for dinner and they were great too.. For Malayalies in search of Malayali food in San Diego this is a must visit.."

"This past weekend, we sought out an alternative to our regular Indian restaurants Coromandel (good, but not great) and Coriander (great, but a bit too far and too pricey) and came upon Shirley 's. And I am glad we did it 's a good find. There were only 3 of us, so we were able to sample only four dishes. Before I give a final rating, I probably need to try a few others. But we 're off to a very good start. The onion pakora were outstanding. Delicious. If you like your vindaloo hot, you 've come to the right place. Just a taste of the chicken vindaloo had me hiccuping. And though there was certainly a lot of fire I like spicy food, and this dish was pretty close to the outer limits of where spicy hot and edible overlap for me it didn 't overwhelm the sheer deliciousness of the fabulous, subtle, and beguiling taste of the dish. The Rogan Josh 's was likewise delicious. Its sauce was really great. A vegetarian dish was tasty, but wasn 't in the league of the first two. An impressive first outing with Shirley 's. I am looking forward to having food from there again. Recommended"

"Update: what used to be a great South Indian restaurant has went down hill. You must eat the buffet on weekend lunch services, the sambar is watered down, they bring random items of food our at a time, and they do not know how to pour drinks. It is sad to see such a dramatic change simply because they didn't feel like paying a royalty fee to keep their original name. Also they have ant and roach spray by the front door…I wish I would have noticed before I started eating. Great idli sambar, ch … – show"

"Great tasting Indian food. The portion is large for a thali and it is of good value. I have visited this location during lunch hours but there is a long wait for the food. Arrived at 1230 but only got the food an hour later. The restaurant don't seem too busy however. The mango lassi was great drink while you wait They have decent parking spaces."
