"I went to Alexander's a bit apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews, but I never should have. As I entered the courtyard leading to the restaurant, I felt as if I had entered another part of town. It was like Naples' little secret gem just by the looks and feel. As we sat down, our menus and bread and water were served to us very promptly. Further, I must say the bread is phenomenal. Then we ordered our meals. I had the phyllo wrapped shrimp and skirt steak, and my wife had the lobster bisque and macadamia nut crusted grouper. When the appetizers arrived I could tell by their appearances that the taste would be wonderful, but even after my first bite I was further amazed at the taste of the fresh shrimp coupled with its creamy spicy sauce. My wife's was incredible also as I believe that there was about half a lobster it seemed in the soup which was extremely tasty. Then, our entrees came. With just one smell I was blown away. And with the first bite I was amazed further. I have never had a better meal and I have eaten at some famous places too, but this tops all of that. The steak was so tender and the grouper was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was astonished that anyone could ever not completely enjoy alexander's restaurant but I know I will be going there as often as I can."
