"We wanted a lovely Easter Brunch with three generations. The problem was that we were coming from Northern MA and Middle Connecticut, so where to meet? Worcester is exactly half way and so we tried the Beechwood. It was the most expensive Easter Brunch around, but we were willing to pay for a special day. It was awful: while the selection was mediocre, the food was all COLD and dried up or burnt. The coffee was cold. The desserts were limited and pasty. The fresh fruit was . . . only cantaloup The salad was wilted. The clam chowder congealed. There were no capers or onions for the sad looking lox and the cream cheese was a mess. The only hot items were from the crepe station and pasta bar. Both were tolerable, but we got the dregs of everything else. I understand that we had one of the last seatings, but we were not charged less than the folks who came in the morning, and so we should receive the same quality of food and service. I am not a difficult customer to please and rarely leave a negative review, but for $45 each I was expecting some class. The ambience was cold, and cavernous an impersonal banquet hall. The saving grace of the afternoon was the company."
