"Pizza. Pick up. Prompt, pillowy and pleasing. I got a garlic w bacon and a regular w pepperoni. Ready in 20 minutes. They have a covered pick up spot at the back, nice touch. The red sauce pizza is fluffy and the sauce is absolutely glorious. The cheese is browned, with a light crisp at the edge. The bottom is not crisp nor soggy. Top tier fluffy. The garlic is nice and buttery with a pronounced oregano finish. Also excellent. This is in the Watertown top 3 no doubt."

"We had a reservation and I specified that it was a birthday celebration. The hostess was rude! He initially sat us at a corner table and then came back saying we needed to move. He put us at a large round table in the center of the restaurant despite  smaller available tables. There is nothing intimate or enjoyable about 3 people at a large round table that seats 5-6 people in the middle of the restaurant. The corner table that he moved us from remained empty the entire time, so why?? I asked for other options and we moved to a booth which was better, but by this time we were all aggravated. Our waitress was good and the food was good, but overall our experience was disappointing."

Was skeptical from the mixed reviews but I took a chance and no regrets here! Dough wasnt too thick, sauce was really good and the cheese was delicious! "We had a solemn lunch in Tala today for my daughters college department. The restaurant, staff, atmosphere and food exceeded our expectations. We arrived earlier than planned and had 1 additional guests with us, so we were worried, but the staff was very accommodating. The waiter we had was polite, professional informative. Our special drinks were delicious and we all loved the meals we ordered. Large portions and so tasteful. We especially loved the Calamari and Quinoa/kale Salat. The waiter brought a huge cookie with ice cream and a funkler on it for my daughter and the cookie was big enough for every taste. Thank you for making my daughters special."

"I clearly ordered grilled chicken sandwich when I came home the chicken was missing from the sandwich I called asked the lady why she didn?t give me chicken she said I didn?t order chicken with it. Grilled chicken sandwich is coming with chicken why should I need to tell her separately about chicken. She don?t even say sorry or anything. When I was taking my order i was asking her for a plastic bag for the sandwich she said she didn?t give me because I?m buying a sandwich .I leave far so I can?t carry it like that for two hours. One plastic bag how much money is that. Horrible service."

"Ordered here today, for the first time. The pizza taste is awesome. Great spices. Best pizza on West Side ave. Way Better than that nasty, 'Romanos ', Nasty Pizzeria. We 're going to order from them every Friday. We ordered the large cheese pizza with chicken and extra cheese. Next time we 're ordering a large cheese with sausage and extra cheese. Looking forward to the chicken wings too."

"I was in town for a basketball ball tour and happy found this place. The food was amazing and the place is enchanting, loving the outdoor seating area. Very good food .. I only have to drive 3 hours to eat there again!!!"

"The pizza here is bland, watery and lacking in flavor but York Avenue doesn't have high standards. The reason for this review is that the dining shed in front of Salvo's is partially blocking the crosswalk sign so you can't fully see it on the other side of the street. Considering the 4 lanes of often speeding traffic on York and the 2 one way streets turning into the intersection, that is especially dangerous. Couple this with the fact that Mano, the beloved bodega worker across the street died crossing this intersection to get a slice at Salvo's and was fatally struck by a taxi, we already know this is a dangerous intersection. There is also an elementary school, library, post office on the block and John Jay Park down the street. This dining shed hasn't been used in months and is taking up space and while I couldn't care less if there is one less parking spot, I don't want to see someone struck in this intersection again. Please (re)move this shed. Update: gratitude to the Department of Transportation as within two days of complaining to 311 that this business blocked a pedestrian traffic signal with the roof of their disused dining shed, the dining shed was moved several feet away from the intersection in question. I can only hope that Salvo's received a large fine for the unsafe conditions that they perpetuated."
