"Sad! Not sure what was in Hyderabad house since the last time I was there. this year. But whatever happened, a low-quality butter made chicken. We usually order butter chicken from here 3-4 times a year because it is my favorite place to get it. No more. Tonight butter was chicken floating in fat and we might have had 4 chickens in it. For $15, I really felt torn off. Enough to my butter chicken loving butt somewhere else. I don't really want to give them another shot because I'm pretty sure they knew what they did when they sprinkle four chickens in the bowl. Kinnara's butter chicken for $16 is a great value, I always liked Hyderabad houses version a little more. I'll miss the old version here without fat!"

"Sep 2017: This place is under new management now and the food is awesome, service great. Their Biriyani is authentic Hyderabad style, which means meat gravy is buried under yellow and white spiced rice, not mixed. It is very flavourful, not excessively hot. They have done extensive renovations, has a full service bar, the decor is very contemporary (better than any other Indian restaurant in the tristate area) and the place is very clean. They have an awesome outdoor patio with tables for the evenings!!!"

"Had a chance to hop into Shalimar while traveling back to Indy. Food turned out to be on both end of the spectrum. Ordered Vegetarian Thali, Fish Pakora and Papad. While the Thali turned out to be the best I had in a while, with lip smacking dishes and ample quantity while being fairly priced; the fish pakora and papad were fairly average with the papad even tasting a bit off. Would recommend just to go with thali when trying this place out it will not let you down."
