"I have walked past this place numerous times and it looked really charming so we decided to give it a try. It was bad from the outset. The waitress never cracked a smile and made us feel like she was doing us a favor by being there. She was downright nasty. We thought the food might make up for it but that didn’t happen. My chicken was inedible, the duck confit was incredibly salty and our tarte tatin could have been mistaken for baby applesauce. I have never written a bad review of a restaurant but this was just so bad that I felt compelled to."

"So sad to see that the owners go back to France. The restaurant Essen, Service and Ambiente was fabulous. Venice needs more good ethnic restaurants. They all do good business, but unfortunately it's hard to get servers and many customers don't type well what makes it hard to keep help. I will really miss this jewel of a restaurant! Last time last night."
