"Great people, great food, great service. Beautiful setting on the lake. Short drive about two miles for necessities. Nearby activities: It 's in the Adirondacks, so you 're limited only by your imagination. Warmer months for swimming, water skiing, water boarding (the non torturous kind...lol), lying on the various beaches, hiking, camping, canoeing, rowing, etc. Colder months have skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, harvesting maple syrup, and plenty of other activities. Safety: Overall very safe. No lifeguard for the beach. Do not attempt to walk the main road. It is extremely dangerous. There is plenty of room for both kids and pets to run and play behind the hotel and restaurant, and both buildings have outdoor seating which allows parents to keep eyes on their children. Walkability: Has its own beach and docks. All other needs are not walkable, but it is a very short drive, about two miles, to get to the general store. DO NOT WALK THIS ROUTE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, BECAUSE IT IS A HIGH TRAFFIC ROAD WITHOUT ROOM FOR PEDESTRIANS. Food drinks: The owners are well established in the culinary arts, as you 'll see when your food comes to your table. I systematically tried everything on the menu, including the temporary menu items, and I liked everything, including the ones that I had expected not to like so much. If you 're interested in the traditional American diet, then you will absolutely love their burger. Trust me. It 's that good. So was the chicken marsala with zucchini noodles. And the Riggies , a local favorite, are perfect every time. Their salads are also delicious. They have an eclectic selection of wines. Plus, they have Guinness, so...Automatic Win! Noteworthy details: They are currently (February 2023) closed on Monday and Tuesday. Dinner is from 4pm until 9pm. Reservations for the restaurant are typically not needed during the off season (winter time).
