The couple before us had already left after waiting at least 15 minutes without a word from the waitress. She turned her back to us as she answered, so I didn’t catch much of what she said. Then, surprisingly, she asked if we wanted to place an order. That seemed odd since seating typically comes first.
I asked if we were going to be seated, and she pointed to one of the five clean, empty tables, saying, "I don’t really have any tables, but I guess you can take that one. I’m not taking any more tables after this." We arrived just before 7 PM on a Sunday night, so there’s really no good excuse for not seating us or anyone else. My fiancé sensed that things weren’t going to improve and decided we would go elsewhere.
Sorry, ISushi, but you’ve failed, and we won't be returning. I plan to contact them for a refund on our Groupon since we’re not interested in dealing with such rude service during a night out. There are plenty of other places where we know we’ll be treated better."
