"Terrible counter Service yesterday; 2/24/2023. I rarely leave any bad reviews for Restaurants that I have been to here in Hawai 'i, I 've been to this Restaurants numerous of times in the Past with my Mom my Nephews also my Husband. I totally get it understand that times are harder now for Businesses, etc, but yesterday Service here was Terrible!! We stopped on by here to grab a bite to eat was planning on eating some Okazuya, we waited for our turn to order, while other Customers were coming into this Restaurant to also sit down dine-in inside!! While we waited on the Okazuya side, which we were waiting waiting as the only one Server lady seated another Couple to there Seat, took their Order, etc, we were still Waitng Waiting, it must have been at least 20 minutes by now, So Crazy I say!! Then we see that same lady that was working at the Counter, tells this other very Shy Worker Guy to take our Order, while this other Guy that was waiting after us, (He claimed that he used to work there), he was also having an attitude towards me, which I should 've totally ignored him, he had the Audacity to tell me to go elsewhere to eat, etc, such an irritating overall experience there!!That shy Guy, eventually helped my Husband I finally takes our order, by then 1/2 hr passes by, Thank you to that Shy Kane to take our order, he was So nervous in taking our Order, but we thank you very much, my Husband I were by far Starving by then!!In the meantime that Lady at her Counter doesn 't even Apologize to us, take our order was just standing there, I mean C 'mon you knew that we were waiting to patiently to order some Food for our late Lunch yesterday!!I can 't see us returning to this Restaurant again in the Future, unless they have more ppl Assisting the Okazuya side, etc!!! Shame on this Restaurant Sekiya , we 've been supporting coming here to this Restaurant for well over 10 yrs+ your Customer Service truly is just awful!!!I hope your management sees my response here, regarding our encounter here yesterday, Terrible, terrible!!!To that lady that works at the Okazuya Counter, you should have better training on how to at least multi task with your Customers, seems like you either don 't like your job or you just don 't care about Customer Care Service!! at all! You just lost us as a Loyal Customer there!!To the awful rude guy there also, bragging about your life arguing with me, I should have never exchanged words with you, your really ignorant have no Class at all, grow up So called father of 10 Ugh, such a very Crazy experience there yesterday @Sekiya; 2/24/2022!!!"

"Neither of the members of our party of two enjoyed the food at this restaurant . Upon entering the restaurant, we observed that the sushi was not so fresh-looking, so we both opted for cooked dishes. The teriyaki chicken in the bento box had a very strange flavor, and the bulgogi beef was super tough and topped by a very mediocre sauce. Sorry to have to say it, but skip this restaurant as there are many much better choices in the area."

"Our regular sushi place is a bit farther since we moved and we have been looking for something closer. We ordered spicy albacore, jalapeno poppers, macho Mexican roll, Philadelphia roll, And a California roll with eel on top. Also salmon sashimi. We did not care for the spicy albacore, but it was unique and I think it might be worth trying other similar options. Our favorite roll was the California roll with eel. Salmon sashimi was super fresh and delicious. They also have some well priced lunch specials which we didn't try. Vegetarian options: Pescetarians only Parking: No trouble parking Kid-friendliness: All tables are booths, but you could fit a high chair(not sure they offer) at the end of the table or have a child next to you Wheelchair accessibility: Isles are wide, but unsure if a wheelchair would fit under the table I would call ahead"

"5 Star best food for 50 miles in any direction, they are closed Mondays. I make up reasons to drive to that area for their food. We never leave unhappy. I also never leave the area without a seared salmon appetizer, ever."

"Modern Japanese food that looks and tastes pretty good. Interesting to see some of the fusion rolls with Italian or Mexican ingredients but not sure how the taste works out. The Seared Tuna Appetizer was great, and if adding a little bit of sauce--esp since there is salad--it works be even better. The Black Thunder Roll was pretty good with reasonably-sized eel pieces on top, but the asparagus inside the roll was a bit of a surprise to me, and I think avocado or cucumber might be a better choice. The Pork Katsu Curry was also pretty good; the pork cutlet was done nicely, though the curry could be a little more spicy for us--which will add to the aroma too."

"Perfect little gateway to delicious rolls, tempura and more. Slightly hidden away, but a perfect place to wind down in the evening, with some crisp beer, and some good Sushi. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and were happy with both the food, as well as the service. Vegetarian options: Lots of good Veggie rolls. Loved the Eggplant roll, as well as the Pickled Radish roll. Good variety overall."

"Gluten Free dining review First time eating here with my wife, who has celiac disease. The service was great and our server brought out their gluten free menu upon request. The menu had quite a few options and they even offer a gluten free teriyaki sauce on several menu items, we will try those next time. Our server seemed to be knowledgeable about the nuances of a true gluten free experience and double checked if the house salad had a gluten free dressing, which it did not, so she let my wife know not to order it. They do serve a gluten free soy sauce, Tamari, which was brought out with our meal. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, Geisha, Rainbow, and Kinkaku. My wife hasn’t eaten sushi rolls in two years and to top it off these rolls were so delicious it nearly brought tears to her eyes. No gluten reactions after the meal so they truly did a thorough job in preventing cross contamination. Thank you, Kyoto, for a great worry free meal that we know we can come back and enjoy anytime!"

"I'm not understanding the generous reviews here. First, the wasabi they served us was brown on the edges, indicating freezer burn wasabi. They didn't even bother scraping off the brown parts. Second, the fish and rice quality are vastly not worth the price. The rice is barely reasoned at all and the fish doesn't taste high quality. How can Nijiya market sushi be better than this? This place used to be my family's go-to spot and now I am disappointed."
