"Wow! How have I lived in central Dallas so many years and never knew about Georgie?! I have driven past it many times and didn’t even notice it. My husband and I have a date night every Friday evening and I like to try new places. Our regular spots (so you get a sense of our general taste) are Al’s for when we’re in a steakhouse mood, Hillstone (chain restaurant choice) and Sister (overall vibe pasta). I selected Georgie based on the OT reviews and the photographs of the interior design. I’m used to restaurants passing the vibe check with decor but the food being very underwhelming. That’s not the case here! The food is TOP NOTCH. My husband bought the 8oz steak and said it was arguably the best piece of meat he’s had and tasted like $135. The baguette they started us with already set the stage because it was melt in your mouth, cotton candy like consistency inside and had an amazing crunch inside. The butter was even coarsely salted and delicious. I got Agnolotti, Broccolini and Creamed Shitake Mushrooms. Do not skip on those mushrooms. You’ve never had anything like them they’re like melted cream in your mouth. The actual flavors are so define and it’s truly the chef’s artwork. Sometimes food I think food is amazing only to realize it’s just overly salted…not here. I do think the price point is slightly higher than I’m used to, even for fine dining, but I will definitely be back. The service was exceptional as well. Server was highly attentive and everyone was wonderful."

"We went to the Bastille Day Prix Fixe dinner and were really disappointed. We do like this restaurant, and its usually very good. This time, except for the service which was excellent, the food was a serious disappointment. We wondered if some of it was left over from the previous night, as this was the second day of a two day offer.Frog's legs were done in a weird tomato/paprika sauce rather than traditional lemon/garlic/butter. In fairness the menu did describe the sauce accurately, but it was tasteless and a bit off-putting.Fish dishes are usually excellent here, but not this time. Flounder in brown butter sauce was the item listed on the menu. When I ordered it, the server informed me that they ran out of flounder (we were the first seated that night, so that was strange) and that it would be sea bass. I was disappointed, but ok since they do fish dishes well. Sadly, my sea bass was way overcooked and very dry, with minimal traces of sauce.Dessert was the most disappointing. Eclairs were on the menu, supposedly fresh out of the oven and just now piped. What came to the table was two small madeleines, with one end of each dipped in chocolate, all cold from the refrigerator, and the madeleines were way overdone and dry. The dish was so different from what the server described that I asked if they were leftover, as they'd obviously been refrigerated, and were not, in fact, eclairs. The server was mystified, said she'd just seen them being piped, and brought another serving which was exactly the same, cold madeleines dipped in chocolate. When asked why they were cold, she said she hadn't realized they were put in the refrigerator because they didn't have counter space. Very strange--wrong item (not an eclair) and served like a leftover. We also had the plum clafouti. Its texture was gummy as if microwaved when cooked, although it was cold in temperature. Or it was left in the refrigerator overnight.Bad meal! Price way high as well for what it was."
