"Downtown Wylie is the perfect place for breakfast! We’ve lived here for 16 years and have never gotten tired of Ballard Street Cafe, if anything we simply love it more with time. It’s family owned and currently open breakfast and lunch. Both menus have many delicious options! This morning we sat at the bar for breakfast about 9a on a Sunday with no wait. My partner ordered the blue plate special, 2 eggs and fried bologna, and I had the Mexicali scramble, we shared 4 sausage links. Everything was delicious. My partner commented he was surprised by how thick the fried bologna was and that it exceeded his expectations, he also had wheat toast and hash browns and in his words, an extraordinarily large glass of orange juice. My Mexicali scramble was amazing! Easily one of my favorite breakfast meals anywhere! It is several eggs scrambled with slices of grilled onion, jalapeños, tomato, and ground sausage, covered in cheese and served with 3 toasty tortillas. The dish also came with crispy hash browns and I added white toast. The toast was buttery and they had four flavors of butter available grape, strawberry, mixed, and apple butter. My first bite and I was just like oh my gosh this is so good, despite having eaten it many times in the past. The serving staff is awesome and gets to know their regulars. The owners are compassionate and really invested in. the customer experience. Prices are more than reasonable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a yummy breakfast for the family, a morning date, or a work meeting."

"We love the location and still stop in on occasion to check out the merchandise and get a coffee. Unfortunately, it’s just changed too much since it was sold and the quality and quantity of merchandise has declined in both regards. We used to buy gifts for the whole family throughout the year, now it’s even more of a coffee shop to hang out at. The coffee drinks are good, sweet, but good, so I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. Service varies, but is generally friendly."

"This was my first time here. The food was great I really like the salmon.It was large and tasty. The guy up front was nice. It was almost the perfect night, but found a piece of what looked like a small plastic zip tie lock at the bottom of my glass. Showed it to the guy up front.I had no idea where it came from. I didn?t make a big deal or want to be to harsh because the food and service were so good. It?s probably just incidental. I would love to give this place 5 stars and come back, but a little quality reassurance would be nice."

"Very quiet atmosphere. I like the homemade feeling in the restaurant itself. The menu is extensive. And they had no problem making a slight adjustment to my foods to make sure it was vegetarian. I have eggs Benedict minus the meat. And in all honesty, the sauce was phenomenal! I've been throwing potatoes, and I've only got meatless engraving over them and they were great. I do not consider any kind of coffee aficionado on all lol, but I can say that their coffee was very good. I like the fact that they employ young people so that they can get the feeling of the actual working world. This was a great breakfast and actually a place I would recommend. You can definitely say there is a family orientation here and I like that. Finally, we tried her famous cinnamon whirlpool pancake. That was far from a disappointment! It was actually one of the best pancakes I had in quite some time My husband was annoyed because we should have ordered two instead of just a #KristinaWrites"

"In general, I give this rating 5 stars for everything in terms of service and food. My favorite Mexican food restaurant. There is only 1 cashier who is nice, the others should have a better face for the customer regardless of stress and fatigue. Just that small detail but they are the best Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
