"My fiancé came to visit and wasn't feeling well; he hadn’t eaten all morning and wanted something light, like soup, to help settle his stomach. We decided to go to Panera Bread, conveniently located on Nelson Road in Lake Charles, LA, near the Lauberge Hotel and Casino and the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. I ordered a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup for him, and I got a Turkey Panini, a cup of Vegetable Soup, and a Strawberry Banana Smoothie for myself. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service and atmosphere were excellent. However, the bread for the sandwiches was a bit tough to eat. Overall, I would rate the food a 3, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5. This was a dine-in brunch experience.

It seems like there was a misunderstanding with the ordering process through the app. I was hoping to either wait for them to re-enable the app options for pick-up or to place my order while on the go. However, I have some medical issues that make it difficult for me to stand for long periods. I usually prefer to order ahead, but now it seems there are no options for using the drive-thru or placing app orders. This has made my experience quite frustrating.

"A true hidden gem in South West Louisiana! This spot serves the BEST beignets I've ever tasted. I've tried many, including those from Café Du Monde, and the beignets from Stellar Beans surpass them by a long shot! I also enjoyed The Titan Sandwich for brunch, and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! "I went to MacFarlane 's Celtic Pub in Lake Charles for lunch with some co-workers. This was my first visit, and a co-worker recommended the Fish Chips. I ordered this for $19.99. The menu describes the Fish Chips as follows: Two slabs of wild caught pacific cod dipped in founders ' beer batter and fried until crisp. Set atop a bed of fresh fried seasoned chips. Served with grilled lemon, homemade remoulade and your choice of a side . After about a 15-minute wait, the food arrives. The plate had 2 small pieces of fish on top of a bed of chips. They definitely weren 't two slabs as described on the menu. If i would have been dining alone, I would have sent it back and ordered something else with bigger portion sizes. However, the fish was hot and fried to a golden brown and tasted very good. If you are hungry, do not order the Fish Chips. They are not worth $19.99."

"Decent meal, average service and below average decor/comfort. Food was pretty good. We sat outside which was more of a concert courtyard with uncomfortable metal chairs. Inside was very bar centered and felt more like your in a pub than a restaurant with a bar. For all the hype they get I was unimpressed."

"We had been eager to try this restaurant, and my only regret is that we waited so long to do so! Everything was outstanding—the food, service, atmosphere, and the prices were quite reasonable. Our server, Stephanie, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions with ease; she also made fantastic recommendations. If you're looking for a lovely spot to enjoy a meal and you appreciate Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend giving Mazen's a try—you won’t be disappointed! Oh, and be sure to make reservations; the dining room filled up quickly, even on a Wednesday evening!"
