"WHAT, NO BBQ!!! SERIOUSLY, WTF--N0 BBQ! We have been to the Brewery many times over the years and while the beers have been okay, the BBQ has always been amazing! We had been in Oregon for a month; were on our way home and planning on stopping in Hawthorne for the night. We got to Hawthorne and realized we could still get to Tonopah by mid-afternoon and stop at the brewery for BBQ and drinks (notice the priority was BBQ). We were able to pull up right in front even with our motor home and trailer. We went in, ordered our cocktails (me wine, hubby beer); grabbed a menu; and went outside to relax since the weather was awesome. I was looking at the menu and didn't see the usual BBQ Sundae that was my staple. I went in and asked about it and the server pointed out there is NO BBQ ANY MORE!!! I looked closer at the menu and wasn't impressed. As I recall, there were half dozen or so appetizer and most of which were fried. They had two salads, pizzas, a chicken sandwich (that I believed was fried), and several burgers. None of that sounded appetizing to us since, for us, it wasn't BBQ nor healthy. Plus we'd read the reviews (AFTER we learned there was no BBQ) and one reviewer had to toss his Buffalo Chicken Salad in the trash because the salsa was bad so we weren't going down that road. I will say hubby found an IPA that he thought was good and when I asked about the Pinot Gris, I leaned it was the winery in the Sonoma, CA area that was owned by the Brewery owner. At this point, about the only good thing I can say about the Tonopah Brewery is our server was as sweet as can be, hubby found and IPA he liked, and their wine was pretty good. As for the food, we did not try it and don't intend to. I seriously doubt--despite the man times we go through Tonopah--that we'll be back. Such a disappoint. As the saying goes: if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
