"Excellent, creative, surprising food, never precious, but never thoughtful or lazy. The bar above is friendly, warm, interesting. And then it's down there! Where a grotto of the varieties houses a second, grittier bar, and a spectacular sound system attracts the best local (read: exiles from Brooklyn, Chelsea, but also London, Armenia) bands, many of which do not get here. Music begins late and ends late, and wild. Who would have thought that sleepy weekend Rheinbeck could host a place in this hip and fun?"
