"we stayed in hotel matthiol nights, and at filet et fils ate twice for dinner. in consideration of the price of the restaurant dishes in dismatt, filet et fils is a wonderful value that serves fine food in a casual atmosphere, which is passionately in by chefs. what they do. when we first arrived in the hotel, we found chef who made photos of some of his creations, and it is obviously the care and attention to details that go into the gilded meal. in the first night one of us enjoyed calf cuts, cooked exactly right and delicate, and the other had the spa gel and ricota ravioli very large handmade ravioli, which were divine. we had both appetizers a hot smoked salmon trout, the meerrettich foam and lemon cream combination worked perfectly for this dish. also had the Matthiol salad, which also had some fresh mushrooms that made it particularly aromatic. we also ordered sugars and cauliflowers simple, but perfectly prepared, and all this turned out to be too much food with a bottle Swiss wine covered, the evening was a real joy. our second dinner was the saffron tagliatelle pasta (wet serve,) and perch perfectly supposed and moist and much taste. we have saved some space for a chocolate dessert, which we have shared with a great deal. even if they do not stay in matthiol, they will find the time to stroll the hill and enjoy the fine kitchen, relaxed atmosphere and friendly and well-known staff."

"We stayed at Chalet Hotel Schoenegg, Zermatt, the week 4-11th February with Inghams Holidays. We absolutely LOVED it! ❤️ The hotel is perfectly located above village with simply stupendous views of village and Matterhorn but literally just a three minutes walk from Sunnega lift station and Flexirent ski equipment rental. Staff in the hotel were absolutely delightful every single one of them in every dept - so friendly, welcoming and helpful (special thanks to Hosa in restaurant x) and the owner also ensured he spoke with all the guests each evening in the restaurant which was a very nice personal touch. Rooms very nice decor, extremely comfortable ( tea/ coffee facilities and dressing gowns and slippers included) immaculate and great views. The panoramic view from restaurant / dining room at breakfast and daytime was utterly spectacular and breathtaking. Watching the magnificent Matterhorn awake and present herself to the village she overlooks is a lasting memory. Indeed "A Room with a View" ( and for fans of The Night Manager, scenes were shot in the dining room here) we could have sat there all day admiring same but the snow conditions, pistes and skiing arena were just too fantastic! Breakfast buffet an amazing selection of hot & cold fare - cheeses and cold meats, smoked salmon, fresh fruit platters and melt in mouth mini croissants / pastries to name a few - even a glass of Prosecco if you wished!! Dinner was also 4 courses of delicious fare each night and the chef always happy to make alternatives for you if choices did not suit. And a lounge with roaring log fire or cosy bar to while away hours. And at the end of the day a divine little Spa area with jacuzzis, steam room, loungers and in house masseur to alleviate aching muscles - again with views to take your breath away. This hotel - its staff, location and incredible views, superlative standard of food and hospitality is a real stand out - we have walked in Zermatt before as well as first ski trip and definitely plan a return visit winter / summer in future. Cannot recommend highly enough - absolutely superlative. Also a visit to the village Museum is a must - amazing exhibits and history of Zermatt and mountaineering. We adore everything about Zermatt - Great To See You (again) !! Thank you Hotel Schoenegg - we will return! ❤️"
