"In addition to amazing food (the omurice set is my favorite—get it with curry instead of demi glace), this is the perfect spot for a chill but intimate dinner.I feel like an old person saying this but it’s also the perfect volume level inside. They did their acoustic design correctly so it’s lively but you don’t have to shout. Perfect for a date or a casual night with friends. This is a standout on a street with a lot of great food on it."

A wonderful, almost “hidden” spot on the lower level of a historic east village building. We were seated right away on a Wednesday night even without a reservation. The decor and plating were beautiful something straight out of a movie. Portion size and service were also excellent. Recommend for a lux date night!

AOI Kitchen serves super delicious curry and other Japanese dishes that we highly recommend! We noted on the door that the restaurant was Michelin recommended a few years ago and it did not disappoint. The service was also excellent. The only con would be the price since it was quite expensive even though one entree will fill you up.
