"Was up in Thurmont for a little business and needed lunch. Pulled into Bollinger's, walked in, very homey relaxed atmosphere. Menu has so many options everyone will find something to enjoy. Specials this day included chicken livers, and oysters both with sides for a complete meal. I decided on a burger, the J.B. (picture below) which came with the BBQ sauce, and I chose side of fries. The BBQ sauce was so good on the burger I asked the server for a small cup of sauce to dip the fries in. Speaking of which the fries were perfectly crisp outside and tender inside. The burger, ordered as medium rare, was served perfectly medium rare. Given the burger is smushed thin, to cook it so perfectly ta...

We stopped with some friends after a hike and were ready to eat. The waiting staff was attentive and pleasant. My friend and I split the excellent Pit turkey dinner and were done. You also have a huge selection of beer at very affordable prices... We'll be back with friends... Thanks Uncle Dirty for a great end to a great day!

We asked the Liberty attendant a good place to eat. He recommended Bollingers and we were not disappointed. The service and food was top notch. Sara recommended the Cuban sandwich and I was very pleased my husband had fish and chips and loved it. The servings are ample. The cook maybe the owner) was pleasant and thanked us for Stopping. I would recommend this little small hometown business

Went for breakfast and loved every bit! My uncle took us and highly recommended this place. It’s been a family-operated restaurant since 1946. They don’t serve you the frozen cubed hash browns. These are actually potatoes that are freshly made. The sausage patties weren’t the cookie-cutter frozen garbage either. They were hand pressed and sourced locally. I had the western omelet and the veggies were super fresh!

"A throwback to the 50s!!. The restaurant is a throwback to the 50s when there were few places to stop on the road to Gettysburg. The restaurant is quite large with a small gift shop at the entrance and a large buffet combined with several dining rooms that can be sectioned into private rooms. The daily specials are listed at the front door but the focus is on the buffet. The buffet is available as both soup salad only and the full buffet something I learned only after the fact. The big focus on the buffet is dessert with 2 1/2 of the 5 buffet tables dedicated to pies, puddings and other sweet treats. As a whole, the buffet isn't very inspired the majority of the patrons appeared to be retirees, either local or passing thru town. The hot food is standard fare relatively bland steam table vegetables, meatloaf, sausage and fish sticks (visited on a Friday). The fried chicken was surprisingly good especially for a buffet with a minimal amount of breading and surprising non greasy. The salad bar is quite large with one section of the usual salad bar fixings plus a myriad of prepared salads (tuna and chicken), potato and macaroni. The dessert bar is extensive. For the heath conscious, there are even some sugar free options for pies and even sugar free Jello which was a nice touch. All told, this is road food and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The service is pleasant, the atmosphere is older and it allows an opportunity to slow down."
