"We just came back from 4 days in Weißenkirchen in der Wachau. We are somewhat of a food snob from Southern California and had a difficult time finding good places to eat during our 3 wks in Central Europe (Prague, Vienna, Budapest). I would have to say Heinzle was a rare exception. We went on our first night stay in Weißenkirchen at the recommendation of our hotel hosts. The waterfront location was something special. We were seated without a reservation (first in a not so nice location, then quickly moved to a perfect spot to enjoy the Danube).Salad, two entrees, two drinks under $50. I would say something comparable in Los Angels (say Malibu, would easily double that without the picturesqu...

Sehr schönes Lokal direkt an der Donau. Auf Empfehlung besucht, bekannt für Fischgerichte. Absolut gerechtfertigt, alles war sehr schmackhaft. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Auch nach unseren 2. Besuch im Restaurant Heinzle sind wir wieder begeistert. Sehr freundlich, rasche Bedienung und die Speisen sind so gut, dass wir sogar aus Wien anreisen um hier zu essen. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

You just can't beat this setting for dinner; outside on the banks of the Danube River and, if you like fish, you can't get any fresher than this. My wife and I both started with cream of white asparagus soup. It was excellent. I had a local fish over risotto and it was also excellent. My wife does not care for fish so she had white asparagus with ham in a cream sauce. There were no complaints. For dessert a delicious dumpling with raspberry sauce and ice cream. Service was great and the host was very friendly and spoke English very well which made it easy for us to understand the menu.
