"My family has been frequenting Pastina for 30 years now. We used to live in the neighborhood and would visit at least once a week. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Lovely staff, tasty food and all around a delight.

Delightful find on Westwood Blvd, a few blocks north of West Pico Blvd but with quiet residential streets either side which makes this a real neighborhood place, as I noticed staff and manager chatting with regulars. I had a delicious dish of sand dabs (very Californian small fishes, a bit like sole). The helpful and friendly waiter said I could substitute a simple spaghetti with olive oil and garlic for the potatoes, and sauteed spinach for the roasted veg, and leave out the capers in the lemon butter sauce... A customized dish that suited the mild spring evening perfectly. The house Chardonnay was perfect accompaniment. If I lived in LA, I'd make myself a regular, too!
