"The place was empty at 6:00 on Saturday night. Now we know why. They were fried from white meat and from acid cream. Hamsteak was crushed in gravure and the potatoes lubricated like thin paste. The chicken teeth were okay. The baked potatoes were well cooked? muddy and tasteless. Server never came to refill water or drinks. She gave us the check, but she didn't ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. Place was an entry when we were gone. I'm not back. Cerno?s on the street is much better."

"I live in Texas now, but while I was back home, I made it a point to protect Fernandos! In part, because they decided to follow Illinois mitigation measures and partly because for the excellent food and wonderful service! I visited the restaurant during the week after Easter and was immediately welcomed in and sitting. My mother, uncle and aunt came to me. I chose the Chimichanga Especial Del Rancho and it was excellent. Chimichanga had the right amount of crispy, the rice was perfect and tasteful and the beans and salad were also great! My uncle had the Chile Verde and he was so glad that he wrote me a picture next week to let me know that he found a new favorite in Kewanee and was fed back with my aunt. There are many Tex Mexican selections in Kewanee, but I love Fernandos especially for the excellent hospitality and service and the Must-Try food!"

"The service was exceptional! The waitress was very attentive. She even came and opened the door at our arrival. The food was cooked properly and was not terribly expensive. The only thing I miss, is the buffet at this location was removed when covid hit the area."
