Great food! Awesome service! We had such a great time visiting with family and friends today and Chicken house was so helpful in taking care of all of us. Had the West room for half the afternoon and staff was always helpful from start to finish!

A long time ago I lived in Emporia Kansas and we all knew the best fried chicken was at the Chicken House in Olpe. Olpe is a tiny town but the Chicken House (it was still in a house) was always packed. Evidently it still is the best place for excellent home style fried chicken. I wish I still lived close enough to have some.

I don't typically give bad reviews, but as much as everyone talked this place up I felt like I needed to leave a review. I'm still giving it 2 stars because the service was good and the green beans were decent. But...the fried chicken was absolutely horrible. The breading had ZERO flavor. I've had better chicken from arandom gas station in the middle of nowhere. And it's been sitting there for 8 hours under a heat lamp. Everyone says this is the best fried chicken in the area, but I'd have to disagree. Either I had a really bad one time experience or these people haven't had any good fried chicken before.
