"I love this place! I am from Cave Creek, AZ and this is my go to place every time I visit SLC. I always start with funeral potatoes. I should just get one order for myself and that's it but I just can't pass up the other yummy stuff on the menu. Last night I had the chicken pot pie. It was so incredible!! The sauce was thick and full of chicken and carrots and had a fantastic crust on it. I have had roadkill, amazing, and the fried chicken, OMG!!! The only down side from last night was I wanted to hear the band. It was a $5.00 cover charge and we never heard them. We got there at 8:30pm and left at 9:40 and the band still hadn't played. If I didn't love this place I would have been a little...

Great place to hang out with super food, a real honky tonk bar and grill. One of the only places in the valley that put on some really great roots music too. If there is one place to go to in the valley then this is the place

Something I never though I would say: “One of my favorite pubs is next to the oil refinery in Salt Lake City”. Best Brussels Sprouts of my life for $3. Awesome cocktails under $10. Candied bacon was awesome. Skip the chicken wings. The sludge fries did not have the blue cheese and bacon the menu said they had but were really interesting. Our server Sierra was as excellent and other staff members checked on us as well. Excellent band. Fire pit outside. I love this place!

"I speak as a tourist. I was delighted this place has dedicated, on-the-menu options – as it is apparently open late, it would seem to be worth keeping in mind for that reason. This, and the empanada's great value, lead me to give it three stars. That said, there were some oddities. I got the vegan arepa and the vegan empanada. They were both filled with *exactly the same ingredients* and the empanada was bigger than the arepa – but the arepa costs more than 2x as much. Given these circumstances, and the fact that I liked the empanada more, I can see the empanada being a great deal for a vegan looking late night or for a bit of variety. Both of them were on the bland side, however, and far from imaginative. I did enjoy the plantains in both; otherwise, it was mainly black beans and some avocado. (From the menu, it appears that their several vegan items seem mainly to be rearranging these same ingredients. The small amount of chimichurri I was given added some flavor and was ok, but did not knock my socks off. None of it was bad, and I do think they made at least the arepa fresh with decent ingredients, but there just wasn't much flavor. Finally, they use big styrofoam packaging for to-go, which is actually enough to mean I would avoid eating here again. (Not being a local, I don't know how common this is, but I know it's not even nominally recyclable in SLC and that not all places do it. Updated from previous review on 2021-09-05"
