"Last July 2015 was again one of the beautiful days of this month. As always on Friday, the fridge was empty and the visit to the market was only for the next Saturday. So look where to eat. We had a visit to Nickisch in Schüttorf on the tableau for a long time. The Hotel Nickisch is a very old-hearted house in the Obergrafschaft and some of my business partners had already innate and fed with positive feedback. So my wife reserved a table on Friday night and we took advantage of the nice weather for a convertible tour of small villages from Rheine to Schüttorf. My wife had actually agreed to drive back! So I was in a happy position not to have to miss a glass of wine. Once in Schüttorf we e...

"...if you like Mexican almost kitchen. I had to work with the bike. To the office by train and bike, back complete by bike is a distance of about 34 kilometers. Since my wife had announced that she had to perform her duties at the beekeeper club in the evening, I assumed she had to take care of a dinner on the way back in Bad Bentheim. Shortly before 6:00 I drove through Bentheim and found that the assembled Benheim gastronomy on Tuesday was a concerted action against the plentiful guests and (mainly Dutch tourists). Who cares to look for hungry people? I was so far away to eat at home when I watched the Zapata restaurant terrace. With guests on it, many even. A strike breaker, how beautiful! And I could even get a table, even more beautiful! So I took a seat and looked at where I had set myself. Mr Minitar wrote a report in 2015. Hmmm, Mexican, at least what we are serving here as Mexican cuisine, usually does not come on my culinary radar. Okay, now I was there, I was hungry, the prices that are asked for food do not rush into private insolvency. I was thirsty too, so first a beer. Mexican Corona and Desperados beer are only available from the bottle. Such one of the longest German large Pilsener brewery, you can drink. Delete thirst with it, but don't enjoy it. The card is on the homepage, and I ordered a small appetizer and a main dish. It should be mixed Mexican. Chorizo, Popper, Mozzarella Stick, onion ring with salad set and BBQ Dip shows the map about the mounting of Mexican specialties. It all happened! Is that so popular in Mexico? In addition to the salad tasting kitchen at snack level. The Vinaigrette probably also a finished product. Even the chorizo had landed in the frit! It wasn't a restaurant dinner, so I expect something in the snack, but not in a restaurant kitchen. But I admit, if I had read the content better for the mixed Mexican, I could have been warned. The main court should be a burrito. Burrito con Chorizo was my choice, the map explains this: tomato tortillas filled with Mexican rice, Mexican pepper sausage, mixed vegetables, salsa and cheese. That was then a satt maker who could please a little better. Loading dough with vegetable pan would be the analogue in my private kitchen. The chorizo put a little sharp on the swollen vegetables in the bottle. Rice still gave volume, that thing sat down. That was okay as it was served. Certainly no surprising aromas, but acceptable. There was another salad. It was just like the salad prepared in the appetizer and okay (Why don't you prepare as easy as a Vinaigrette in the vast majority of restaurants? But I don't understand what this must be looking for in a Mexican restaurant. Pommes, and not even very well prepared, much too bright. The many Dutch table neighbours would not be happy about it. I didn't even expect a full supplement that is really not necessary for the Burritos. After that I saw that you could get rice as a supplement, but I was not asked when order. For me, Pommes are not a supplement to a Mexican dish. The service had to go very well, two young ladies and a gentleman had to take care of a fully equipped outdoor terrace and many visitors in the guest room. They got this quite neatly, although I (better my pants became the victim of a glass tipping accident. But that can happen, otherwise it was good. I come to the conclusion of a short return to the Mexican restaurant Zapata. I don't have to go back, too much farewell, too much fried, too little authentic kitchen craft. There are so beautiful things in Mexican cuisine, avocado cream, sauces with cocoa in it, many flavors we do not know in Europe that I want to experience in a Mexican restaurant. But I admit to the restaurant that most guests find the dishes as they are served well. And the commandment rewards itself during the visits. On the map you will not find a Schnitzel hunter type for free. Whoever likes this is well done here."
