"I came here to edit some stuff for a project I’m doing out here and I brought my service dog in and everyone loved her and she was super nice to all of the guests. I had her on a leash next to me and she wasn’t creating any problem and no one complained. One of the barista‘s asked if I could leave because I had a dog and I told her that the she was a service dog. She said OK and I continued my work for another hour or so before she returned to my table and asked again if I could leave. I was confused and reiterated that she was a service dog and asked if there was any other reason. She said “because the dog was jumping on people and licking them”. My dog played with the people that came up...

Don't buy iced chai, not worth $6. Maybe the coffee drinks are better. You have to put the lid on the cup yourself (if getting to-go) and the large lids did not fit the large cups.Food: 1/5

Came just to get some coffee and they said we were not allowed to sit just for coffee and we would need to stand at the counter. We ended up standing at the counter for over a half an hour. The drinks were way too sweet.Service: 1/5

Publik Avenues gives you the same menu of toasts and pastries as the roastery location, but with a more intimate space and a charming patio. One drawback is that the indoor seats are all metal IKEA stools, so you'll be dining sans back support. I suppose that helps the tables turn over. The patio tables outside are more comfortable, and there's always plenty of folks enjoying their offerings. The baristas are top notch. Service is friendly and quick with four staff members behind the counter.

"I speak as a tourist. I was delighted this place has dedicated, on-the-menu options – as it is apparently open late, it would seem to be worth keeping in mind for that reason. This, and the empanada's great value, lead me to give it three stars. That said, there were some oddities. I got the vegan arepa and the vegan empanada. They were both filled with *exactly the same ingredients* and the empanada was bigger than the arepa – but the arepa costs more than 2x as much. Given these circumstances, and the fact that I liked the empanada more, I can see the empanada being a great deal for a vegan looking late night or for a bit of variety. Both of them were on the bland side, however, and far from imaginative. I did enjoy the plantains in both; otherwise, it was mainly black beans and some avocado. (From the menu, it appears that their several vegan items seem mainly to be rearranging these same ingredients. The small amount of chimichurri I was given added some flavor and was ok, but did not knock my socks off. None of it was bad, and I do think they made at least the arepa fresh with decent ingredients, but there just wasn't much flavor. Finally, they use big styrofoam packaging for to-go, which is actually enough to mean I would avoid eating here again. (Not being a local, I don't know how common this is, but I know it's not even nominally recyclable in SLC and that not all places do it. Updated from previous review on 2021-09-05"
