"Took a day trip to Schaffhausen; we had plans to eat at another restaurant that had been highly recommended by friends....but by the time I arrived at 2pm they were no longer serving lunch. So....I quickly checked TripAdvisor for a suggestion. Brauerei Falken was nearby...and had good reviews, so off we went. We had fondue and drinks. The fondue was great, but at 24 euros a head, overpriced. So be warned. The restaurant offered a smoke filled room option on the ground floor bar room or a nonsmoking option upstairs in a more fancy setting. We opted for old bar + smoke. A very nice setting combined with HUGE helpings of food. I went for the local specialities and never regretted. That was simply delicious. When you add a glass (or two…) of wine… ;)

It is in the middle of the Old City (Altstadt) of Schaffhausen, so it is a good opportunity to have good food as a lunch break during your visit or shopping in the old city area. Prices are normal compared to Switzerland but around 30 to 40% more expensive compared to Germany. Staff are friendly and so helpful. This restaurant presents different dishes like pasta (with many different sauses,) steaks, Wiener steaks, ... and some special kids dishes like Frites. You can sit outside if the weather is good and also inside if you like.
