"This is a good place for the American basic price. Nothing beautiful, but the quality of food is pretty good. And very cheap. Two adults (no drinks) $40 with appetizer. The mozzarella sticks were good for an appetizer talking about it. We had a few melt sandwiches for the main course and they were well done. Not burned, but also quite crispy. So just the right amount of cooking time. For a good lunch this is definitely better than a quick meal. Unfortunately no breakfast all day, but one of the melts is an egg and cheese with bacon or ham. And apparently there are pancakes during the day when you long for breakfast items in the afternoon. On the back there is a large parking lot."

This local restaurant serves with humorous flare. The fried chicken is an attempt. Start with each of the cheesey pommes and finish with one or all delicious cakes. The burgers and coffee were Bland. We were pleasantly overwhelmed with amazing service from Tanya, thank you!

A jewel of a restaurant with a large menu in historic Thumont, Virginia. Her fried chicken (married, baked, and fried gravure) won first place in the state competition. Make sure to place the baked goods with soft ice on top. Authentic country cooking with cheerful staff. A pleasant and filling experience!

"A throwback to the 50s!!. The restaurant is a throwback to the 50s when there were few places to stop on the road to Gettysburg. The restaurant is quite large with a small gift shop at the entrance and a large buffet combined with several dining rooms that can be sectioned into private rooms. The daily specials are listed at the front door but the focus is on the buffet. The buffet is available as both soup salad only and the full buffet something I learned only after the fact. The big focus on the buffet is dessert with 2 1/2 of the 5 buffet tables dedicated to pies, puddings and other sweet treats. As a whole, the buffet isn't very inspired the majority of the patrons appeared to be retirees, either local or passing thru town. The hot food is standard fare relatively bland steam table vegetables, meatloaf, sausage and fish sticks (visited on a Friday). The fried chicken was surprisingly good especially for a buffet with a minimal amount of breading and surprising non greasy. The salad bar is quite large with one section of the usual salad bar fixings plus a myriad of prepared salads (tuna and chicken), potato and macaroni. The dessert bar is extensive. For the heath conscious, there are even some sugar free options for pies and even sugar free Jello which was a nice touch. All told, this is road food and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The service is pleasant, the atmosphere is older and it allows an opportunity to slow down."
