"The Waffle House is always great but this morning was great because this older gentleman came in and left his door open on his SUV and I went asked him if he meant to leave it open or not. He said no and as slow moving as he was coming in he didn't seem like he wanted to get up and go out to close the car door so I volunteered. When I went back to his table to ask if he had his keys he let me know that her didn't need a key and that he was paying for my table's breakfast, I said don't worry about it. He finished his breakfast got up to leave and we had a nice little chat about the adventures of getting old before he left. When we were ready to leave our waitress informed us that he had alre...

The restaurant was quite busy when I arrived, but there were still a few seats available. The waitress was excellent—very attentive—and the cooks really knew what they were doing! True to the typical Waffle House experience (I’ve never had bad service or food there), the meal was incredibly delicious.

I visited at 5:30 AM, and I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the waitress was. The food arrived incredibly quickly, especially considering the restaurant was half-empty—but I was still impressed! The cook did take quite a few smoke breaks, about every five minutes, which was a bit amusing, but he still managed to get my order right and on time. I tried the sausage melt sandwich, and it was quite filling on its own. Overall, I have no complaints; great job!

The staff at this restaurant is among the best we've encountered during our travels. We've been visiting this location in Louisville for the past five years, and we've been fortunate to have Crystal as our server every time. She and the rest of the team work diligently to accommodate guests and manage the tables. Even during peak times, when there's a line out the door, they remain friendly and communicative. We'll definitely keep coming back, as both the food and service make it worthwhile.

"First let me say the atmosphere is amazing, although a little loud, but in an exciting sort of way, not in a can 't hear your conversation sort of way! Our server, Christian, was amazing! He is absolutely one of the best in the business! He was knowledgable about the menu, the history of the building, bourbon and wine and more! Now on to the food! The crab cake appetizer was the very best we had ever eaten! It was pure crab with just enough bread crumbs on the outside to hold it together! Just big hunks of crab! Yum! We had heard so many times that Repeal had the best steaks in the city so we had to check it out. I am sad to say we do not agree! My filet was overcooked and actually charred on one side even though I ask for it to be medium well (a little pink). My husbands steak was under cooked even though he ask for medium well also. Yes, we could have sent them back, but unless something is inedible, we rarely do. We were just disappointed more than anything, steaks were still very edible and good, just not great! The $20 twice baked potato was not worth $20 even though it did have slices of truffle on top and truffle oil as an ingredient. The Caesar salad was a disappointment! The addition of white anchovies was different but did not elevate the salad in our opinion. The bread pudding was amazing! I highly recommend! Oh, the cocktails were subpar! I know this sounds like a total tear down of Repeal, but it is not! I think we had too high expectations and were just let down by our experience considering the price! So, with all that said, would I go back? Yes! I would but would chose very different menu items than this time. And I would probably skip cocktails and go for wine instead."
