"This was one of my favorite places I ate this past New York trip. Having gone to several other Japanese eateries in NY, I was expecting to shell at least $50/person. But it was closer to $24/person between 3! This was one of the most reasonably priced Japanese restaurants I’ve had, considering how good the food and the ambience was. Their rainbow roll was so unique, with basil and parmesan that somehow elevates all the flavors. I loved their eggplant with miso. Cream curry udon was to die for. And their stuffed squid was another all-star. Plus, all the little details in their plates/cutlery makes the whole experience so worthwhile."

Good team lunch spot. Try the skewers and the lunch tasting menu. The tuna tartare roll is also bomb.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Was 3/4 full and was able to get a seat without reservations. But if you want to seat in a table facing each other and not in a counter, better to reserve beforehand. My wife describes the ramen’s broth and noodles were outstanding—a “real ramen” you can eat in Japan (she is Japanese btw). The yakitori could be better if they serve it in salt as well and not just in sweet sauce. Ambience and cleanliness was top notch.

Came with a reservation for two on a Saturday at 1:30pm and was seated quickly. The space is beautifully decorated, and has two levels. It was pretty full on the lower level, but it only three of the tables upstairs were occupied.I ordered the Karabuta Don, which was more than enough. It also came with soup, which I was too full to have. The flavors of the pork belly and spicy sauce were a perfect match. For dessert, we shared the Matcha Tiramisu, which was delicious. I love tiramisu and matcha, so this was a great combinaton.I would definitely come back and try out more of their menu.
