"I really like the interior design of this place, which, depending on where you sit, is an airy cafe, a bar, or a fairly intimate restaurant. Like most fusion places, they 're not really doing a fusion of cuisines, but just offering more than one, in this case, Japanese and French, with a bit of American thrown in. My favorite dish was the mussels, which were served in a wonderful somewhat spicy broth that made a great soup, too. The tuna tartare was also excellent quality, and the tempura was light and not oily. The wine list emphasizes French wines, with some nice selections, but no bargains. Service was friendly."

The food was delicious, but the server seemed a bit stressed because they were understaffed due to COVID. Despite this, we still tipped 20% because we know times are tough for restaurants right now.

Junya was a fantastic server, absolutely hilarious. Made my night, bright me fantastic cocktails (my compliments to the bartender) He was super friendly and absolutely made my night. I'm definitely glad I came here, I don't think I would have had as much fun tonight without his fantastic attitude

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed every dish and our experience at Yoshis Cafe. I had been longing to visit as it is a unique Japanese-French fusion restaurant that is rare to find in Chicago. My personal favorites were the oyster shooter and the cream of mushroom soup. I am thrilled to bring my family and friends to Yoshi's Cafe in the future!
