"My girlfriend and I were in Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the day just walking around the cute little town when I decided that we should take a drive up to Maine since we both have never been that far north before! It was around 5:30pm when we reached York, ME and I was starting to get hungry! She was as well! I pulled over and decided to look up places in the area and stumbled upon Nikano’s a town over! Had a wonderful dinner the other day pastitsio, chicken, and the zucchini chips, all great. They also had live Jazz and Ogunquit happened to be doing fireworks that night. You could see them from the restaurant. Couldn't ask for better. Great service, food, and ambiance.

We sat at the bar, having a dirty martini and a Greek mule. It was nice speaking with a fellow Greek, Niko, and hearing the family history in the restaurant business starting with his Γιαγιά. I have been to Greece numerous times--the octopus at Nikanos was probably the best I have ever had! It was the first time my friend had ever had it and she loved it!! Ευχαριστώ Νικανος!

I rarely write reviews, but that was necessary! My husband, 8 months old son and I ate there at noon and everything was great. The atmosphere was funny. It was a sunny but cool day, so we sat outside with a heating next to us and there was live music game. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make risk-free recommendations for my milk and soy allergy... and with the kitchen confirmed that everything was properly prepared. The food was great! We will definitely come back!
