"I have been dining at the restaurants at Portola Plaza Hotel for the past 15 years, enjoying many meals. Jack's has always been my go-to spot for business breakfasts and lunches. However, since the recent renovations, I had not visited the Club Room for breakfast. This restaurant was just okay. There was nothing particularly exciting about it. We visited for brunch on Fathers Day. The lighting in the restaurant was very dim, even in the late morning.

I attended a conference at this hotel and was pleased with the helpfulness of the hostess in arranging a quiet table for our group. The food at the restaurant was excellent, although the wait for a customized omelette was too long for me to enjoy. Thank you.

Open Table allowed us to book a reservation at the Club Room which is in the Portola Hotel adn Spa, however, on arrival we found it was closed. We ended up eating at the restaurant immediately adjacent with the exact same menu Jack's. The food was terrible. I had the chicken dish and my husband had scallops. We also ordered the cast iron skillet rolls. Honestly, after eating the rolls we should have just paid and left. It was that unappealing. The server was polite. I would definitely not recommend this and would not return.
